Question: I have a bug, when will you fix it, where is the update?
Аnswer: I'm not the developer of this mod and I'm not even a programmer. My specialty is 3D artist. I just uploaded this mod here with the permission of the author so that people can try it, because the idea of this mod is interesting.
Maybe someone will fix it and release a stable version. The source code of the mod is in the archive. The author of this mod has long abandoned its development and updating.
Thank you for your understanding and your interest.
Gotta say, I didn't expect this mod to work as well as it does. Tested it under a high script load, and even in the middle of Solitude mostly got good response times, sure it gets silly here and there, but it comes around and overall does a pretty good job for a script like that. Even seems to work fine with Requiem mass, although I wouldn't test it with armor speeds enabled naturally. Got a few failsafes built in, decent customization on the MCM... real shame it was abandoned, cause it needs a lot of work to be playable, it gets pretty wild if you start jumping around off road, and you can forget about playing a werewolf with this for example. Lots of stuff to be accounted for
Beautiful mod but it needs a lot of work and also it should be built with COBB Encumbrance in mind.
I use that mod and it seems like there is a little conflict between them because the default speed (flat surface speed) seems to change from time to time, I don't know why (maybe it does not have to do with COBB Encumbrance). If it doesn't then it's the mod itself.
Anyways, my advice for the heroe that decides to carry on with this mod is to built it with COBB Encumbrance mod in mind, work on fixing the small delay of the speed change when the player reaches the downhill/uphill surfaces and to set a limit for the speed changes more gameplay friendly becos NPCS don't have this disadvantage/advantage.
Idk if it's only me, but sometimes it seems there's lag when applying the speed bonus when going downhill/uphill. I checked my script latency with the tool that comes with Convenient Horses and I get decent values (around 30ms), so it shouldn't be script lag. Also, sometimes it will take many seconds (five or more) to slow down my character when going uphill in 3rd person. Anyone else has this issue?
Interesting idea, but it should apply to all NPCs, you cannot imagine the suffering trying to escape from a Bandit or an enraged Bear running at his usual speed, and the Dovakhin almost unable to move
I think its kind of like Frostfall in that things can only affect the player. In vanilla, only the player can drown. In Frostfall, only the player can freeze In this, only the player is affected by slope and speed. I think it has something to do with the way Skyrim is designed. I don't think theres a way around it.
Just set the minimum speed to %50 percent which means it will not slow down more than %50 of flat surface speed. At default its set to slowdown to %15 percent of normal speed which makes it feel extreme.
IMO not good for combat as I can see so many areas to be killed from slowing down like that. That said if you make this for horses I think it would add a lot of immersion.
WOW I spoke too soon. This is amazing mod.Any chance to add to support horses?
When i first saw this, I loved the idea but I was playing a straight thief play. No weapons, no fighting, only escape. I wanted as much reality as I could get I thought that the slow uphill affecting only me would be a handicap. I downloaded it for another play after I finished this one. I began to think how this mod could actually force me to play smarter than I ever have. Know your escape route before you pick a lock or a pocket. I decided to give it a shot. Best thing i ever did!! Brilliant mod!! I can bob and weave my way up a hill and then leave them in the dust on the way down. The math works itself out. If I stumble and fall, it adds a bit of comedy, which is actually part of my play. My character is based of Newman from Seinfeld. Looks just like him! LOL. Thank you for making and sharing. I love this!! 10/10
I had no problem with that. If you have any problems, you can change the angle at which the ragdoll starts or temporarily disable the drop function via the MCM menu
I will not update this mod as I am not the creator of it. I think many have already wanted to create an improved version based on it. It's just a matter of time.
