This mod is no longer supported.

Forcing the Sleep function to the Present function does reduce CPU usage, but it may increase input lag.

I recommend that you don't use this mod anymore, for anyone who has installed this mod, it's safe, you can continue to use it and you can still play normally without affecting the process.

If you can live with the side effects (input lag), or your potato pc desperately needs to reduce CPU usage, or your laptop needs power saving, or your CPU is very, very hot?

If you have the above, then you can keep using it and it might improve it.

When I have free time later, I will consider rewriting it, or hiding it.

For anyone looking to make the game run more efficiently, check out my other mod:
    Simple Heap Replacer

    Thanks !

"DirectX9 Present Plugin version 1 (Present.dll, Present Plugin - Optimize CPU Usage) disabled, fatal error occurred while loading plugin."
game loads fine but it disables this plugin in its entirety because of this error so kinda confused what is going on. I have a d3d9.dll, i'm using a proxy library (swiftshader.dll) should I use the default library d3d9 instead?

okaie, here are some facts that may be true
1- what this mod plans to do is so strong that it is simply a lie and why it does not work
2- this mod only works for windows 10 or special edittion
3- you must have a d3d9.dll in your tesv.exe folder for the mod to work

I use windows 7 64 bit and this mod doesn't like to work

You sure? did you check the SKSE.log and see that it loaded correctly?
      For mine, it didn't.

Present.log says it loaded, but only SKSE can tell whether it did load or not.

their choice but the fact is the world's moved on from that OS and they need to either accept that tons of stuff just won't be available to them from now on, or upgrade.

Vortex showed me the following error

Last time you ran the game, one or more script extender plugins failed to load. This normally happens when you try to load mods which are not compatible with the installed version of the script extender.
To fix this problem you can check for an update on the mod page of the failed plugin or disable the mod until it is updated.

    Error(s) reported:
-Present.dll (Present Plugin 2.0): disabled, fatal error occurred while loading plugin

This shouldn't be. Did you get a similar error when using 1.0?

Same here. Didn´t happen with 1.0

Edit: Reinstalled 1.0 and has the same error.

      Skse.log shows this:
      checking plugin D:\Program Files\Skyrim - Legendary Edition\Data\SKSE\Plugins\\Present.dll
plugin D:\Program Files\Skyrim - Legendary Edition\Data\SKSE\Plugins\\Present.dll (00000001 DirectX9 Present Plugin 00000001) disabled, fatal error occurred while loading plugin

Don’t worry, I’ve checked the code, the error is the second function, the function I introduced in the MOD page is no problem, you can ignore the error, the first function still works normally, I will update 3.0 as soon as possible to try to fix This error.

1 month later you managed to launch a new mod, it must be very difficult since even making music bot FOLLOWING A TUTORIAL is still difficult, but anyway good job! (if this mod works)

So I've been using this mod for a few weeks now. I have monitored my CPU and haven't noticed any difference in Skyrim.exe CPU Usage or temperature. On the other hand, this mod doesn't seem to affect overall performance and my game runs perfectly stable. Tested on a 2016 Notebook Core i5-7200U Dual Core with dedicated GPU. Same results on my old 2009 Core i7-940XM Quad Core Notebook. What are your observations? Did you notice any improvements?

In fact, I didn't have any improvement, but some of my friends reported that it has good results when testing it for me, so I uploaded it and noted that it is more suitable for Potato PC.

Do you install this like a normal mod or do I have to follow some specific installation ?

Wow!! My CPU doesn´t scream in pain anymore! Gladly endorsed!
Can we use it in tandem with your other mod "Skyrim Memory Optimizer - Plugins"?
