Adding a tablet and books to translate the word walls is a nice gameplay enhancement. "Linguists of Skyrim - Dragon Tongue Translation kit" is now featured on GEMS under category 130 - UI - Information.
I do not much like the in-game dictionary, let's imagine that the Dragonborn slowly learned the dragon language. Please make another mod, which whalls can be read as a Etched tablet emblems on the way to High Hrothgar. For example, in Ironbind Barrow, where you find the word of power Become Ethereal, when you activate the wall can be read:
"FEIM (disappearance)
Nonvul Bron, dahmaan daar rok do fin Fodiiz Bormah - Ni los heyv do enook mun wah lahney voth ahkrin ahrk zin, leh rok Feim vodahmin kotin vulom.
Noble Nords remember these words (of) the hoar father - It is duty of each man to live with courage and honor lest he fade, forgotten into darkness."
Hmm. . . I'm not sure what I did wrong. I downloaded manually, then installed via Nexus Mod Manager, set the sort right with BOSS, and possibly cleaned with TES5edit (not sure, because I can't remember if BOSS alerted me to dirty edits or not). I'm in High Hrothgar, and I can see where the tablet should be (the blue flames), but when I go to it, all I see is a blue fire, no tablet, no dragon letters/words. I checked to make sure the linguistpack.esp was checked both in the Nexus list of plugins and through the original Skyrim launcher, as suggested by oneguy090, and it is checked in both places. I don't know why the stone tablet isn't there: do I need to finish the Jurgen Windcaller quest?
EDIT: In one of those "It's broken until I tell someone about it" twists of fate, the next time I reloaded the game, the tablet was there. I still have no idea why it wasn't there the first time, but oh well. I have the tablet! Now to find the dictionaries. By the way, the images really are helpful. Thanks for adding them.
You can find the tablet right in front of the entrance when you enter the High Hrothgar temple. If it isn't there, make sure you checked the box next to the .esp file of this mod in the 'Data Files' option of the Skyrim launcher.
It's pretty simple. With this mod, you can MANUALLY decipher (using the tablet) and translate (using the dictionary) anything and everything written or said in the dragon tongue.
I love the dragontongue lore in the game. Having tools to roleplay scholarship about it it's just wonderful. Thanks for your work. I like the idea of an equipable tablet, the shield concept could work; hope to see it implemented soon ; ) Instadownloaded!
