Thanks to a friend of mine who helped me figure it out, a video with some dialogue lines is now available! See the Videos tab, or the link in the description.
Thanks for your mod, not many voiced male at all in Skyrim LE. I have a little problem: After killing the vampire, maybe I took too long checking the place and, when I got out he was not there. I can not find him anywhere around. I continue the game and now, I see a message saying: Somebody is looking for you...it could be him but, how do I get him back? Thanks.
That's definitely not him, sorry! If you can't find him, maybe use the console (or AddItemMenu, or a similar mod) to find the "Call Vito" spell, and summon him that way.
Thanks for answering so fast. Ok I will find that spell and I will call him. I was sad for losing him since I found him great. Thanks for the help and for the mod.
I messed up my one long-term playthrough quite badly due to modding errors (trying not to scream about this) and I made sure I had Vito installed for the new playthrough. This time I've gotten him before I started on Dawnguard, which brings me to an interesting question: Before you recruit him to the Dawnguard, where's home for him?
I'm not a big follower guy so I don't want him for the entire adventure but I definitely want him around when I am ready to start Dawnguard. So I want to dismiss him now but be pretty sure I can find him when the right time comes.
Under most circumstances, he's just gonna hang out wherever you leave him. However, if you encourage him to start a relationship with Alaina (the new Falkreath lumber mill owner), he is going to go back to Half Moon Mill when dismissed. If he leaves you temporarily because you turned into a vampire, he's gonna either go to Half Moon Mill (if he's in a relationship with Alaina) or to Riften (if not).
In any case, you can grab the summon spell from his inventory and retrieve him that way whenever you need him.
Gotten Vito. It's been cool. I'll endorse in a bit.
In case anyone else was wondering, there is no special dialogue between Serana and Vito -- I'd been wondering if the Serana dialogue extender had something related and/or if the author of Vito had thought of it. I had not expected it by any means, I was just curious. I had Serana with me when I picked up Vito and did his quest. We were on a Dawnguard mission, so Vito's introduction to traveling with the Dragonborn (aside from Vito's own content of course) was killing some vampires nesting at that mini-castle near Falkreath (drawing a blank on the name), alongside another vampire. Must've been exciting for Vito, I guess.
It was hilarious to see Vito and Serana eyeing each other suspiciously while saying random stuff to me. Serana: That's it. Let's move. Vito: Stay alert! Me: Umm....Thanks? (Thinking: I wonder if he's figured it out yet.....)
Vito is now with the Dawnguard and I'm sure I'll pick him up for their missions now and again - with Serana too of course. (I'm actually not a big follower guy, I just like having interesting options when I do feel I need them.)
That made me laugh out loud. :D Vito is indeed aware that Serana is a vampire, you can ask him about her while the Dawnguard main quest is ongoing. (It's somewhere under the "Can we talk" dialogue.) I like the idea of them interacting more directly though! I must see if I can add a few more things to this mod now that the Isran voice pack is available for SKVA. Anyway, thanks for your comments & I'm glad you liked the mod!
So.....This mod looks cool but there's an issue: I've already killed the vampires at Half Moon Mill on my own. Will that impact my experience with this mod? Apologies if this was covered in the documentation and I missed it.
Thanks! The second quest checks for that as well - if you pick up the journal after already killing the vampires, the quest will adapt accordingly. So you should be ok to try the mod. I hope you like it!
Riften by default, Fort Dawnguard if he's joined the Dawnguard, Half-Moon Mill if you encouraged him to start a relationship with Alaina. If you want, you can just use his summon spell to fetch him.
Hello,I have a problem your mod. I've found the place where Vito should be, but it's not there. (Hunters rest) I've checked all over the place and I don't have any mods that should do anything nearby, but I just can't find it. Can you help me?
Did you install on a new game or an existing save? If on an existing save, can you try to start a test new game and see if the problem still happens? It sounds like the script to enable him didn't run properly, so I'd like to see what happens on a new game.
To quickly start a test game, open the console while in Main Menu and type coc riverwood - this should put you just outside Riverwood with a test character. Open the console again, type tmm 1 to show all map markers, then fast travel to Falkreath and talk to the innkeeper. Let me know what happens.
Hello,I'm sorry that I got in touch so late, but I wanted to say that it was a loading problem. As you thought it would be. After I opened a new game, Vito was there. :) So far I love your mod.
Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be possible for him to ride a horse. I ride through Skyrim mostly with my horse thanks to the Comfortable Horse Mod. Since I don't like to use fast travel. But that's not bad. Thank you for helping me. Have a nice day.
