omg yes, this is what ive been looking for since the beginning of skyrims release! i tried those other popular lighting mods and they where just a big disappointment for me. im also using More Dynamic Shadows and its looking great. torches and nighteye actually has a use now. not sure if there will be conflicts but i got this last in the load order. Did the team project ever get finished? Now if i can find something to make candles and torches cast shadows, skyrims lighting will be completely fixed.
How about a link to a/the threads where you are conducting this now on the Bethsoft forums? I love the idea of real lights, and used reallights in Oblivion.
I have to agree with timscampi. We get a lot of hurricanes where I live and sometimes were out of power for weeks at a time. I know all too well just how hard it is to light a large area with candles and such. Lanterns only seem to cover around a three feet radius at the most. Vanilla skyrim lighting is extremely unrealistic all the way around.
Edit: I got this mod to work again. I am running a lot of lighting related mods and I moved this mod to the very top of my mod load order and everything is working now. This really adds a lot of immersion to my game when run with Superl3 ENB, Power-lights, and Realistic Lighting. I fooled around with the ini in the enb settings and this is the most realistic I have ever gotten my lighting in any game.
To those that have been saying that it makes the game less realistic, note that *most* of the "reflected lights" are taken care of in Vanilla via "non-shadow casting" lights. For example, in Bleakfalls Barrow, at the entrance, there are light shafts entering the room. That's a spotlight with shadow casting. There are also some non-shadow casting omnis around the place to simulate some sort of indirect lighting in the room. What this is actually doing is removing most ambient light in cells, making the shadowy area black. While this may be a bit extreme, it's probably more realistic than the over-bright shadows in Vanilla. I did a quick fix to adress an issue I was having with the game. I unfortunately don't have much time to fine tune ambient lights as each preset has like 15+ cells it's used in and I would need to check each one to make sure I'm not breaking the mood or making other lights too bright.
I might do a version 2 in the future, with less radical changes (Keep the light color and reduce the intensity, not set it to 0) but I'm not making any promise, as I have stuff on the side eating my time. (School, mostly.)
For some reason this mod recently stopped working for me. I am trying to figure it out. It must be a conflict. If I figure it out I will post back here.
Dark_Ansem: Performance intensive? Are you joking? You do realize that this mod is REMOVING light sources yes? When you remove light sources from the game it will INCREASE your performance. ^^;
This mod has great potential and I used it for a bit. I liked the effects a lot.
Then I tried a kajhiit:
It seems this has a bug/ gameplay effect. The dark spots are also impenetrable to night eye. So perhaps these settings that have changed are linked to how night eye works.
I have a lot of mods installed and a conflict could be the cause; doesn't seem to be so at first look.

I hope to see an update in the future...
