Anyone know how to add a hotkey to the MCM menu so I could "disable" and "enable" music with a simply press. When I alt-tab out of the game, the music doesn't stop playing and it's quite a hassle to go to the configuration menu every time.
Hi! I installed your mod and got the menu to work, however i am unable to get the player itself to work. I have placed MP3 files into the folders as instructed by the page. But no matter what i try it doesnt play ANY music. I also tried placing one song in each folder and setting each tab with a setting, thinking it would help but still nothing. Is there something i am missing? hopefully you can help me get it to work properly, cause it seems really neat.
I did something, and the mod stopped showing the menu in the current save. But the menu works in the new game's save. How can I clear my current save to make the mod work again?
This would be excellent if you could loose the random system, let me explain, the problem with every music mod is the random playlist, I used the Personalized Music Mod, I added over a thousand tracks, 358 hour later I've heard little over 100 tracks, if you could add a shuffle playlist that would fix this, I asked the guy that made the personalized music mod but my petition was disregarded, hopefully this time will be different.
Sorry to say I most likely won't be adding that feature either. Having a shuffle feature that only does it once at a particular point and then going through each song in that shuffled list requires persisting that list of files somewhere, specifically the Skyrim save file. Now if someone has thousands of music files and then also has hundreds of save files, that ends up taking a lot of disk space. Even ignoring the space requirements and save bloat issue, then things get complicated when someone adds new songs in the middle of a playthrough and how to handle automatically picking those up and adding them to the list in the save file. I totally understand what you are going for, but it is a bunch of work for something which is a lot easier to do by simply choosing the next song completely at random. I updated the random number generator for version 2 so hopefully it will provide a little better variety than other music players you have used.
Why persistent list? Couln't be made like with any mp3 player that you put let's say a folder with sub folders of music and hit the shuffle and play? In this case when loading a save the mod reads the files, makes the list and plays them. I tried the second version of the mod with only 50 tracks, played at least three hours and the repetition is really persistent, stayed 20 minutes standing in town, from ten tracks I placed in the folder only three played in those twenty, I guess strike two to commenting, good luck with your mod.
There are various ways to do this but it is still complicated in one way or another and prone to a lot more bugs and other problems that I would rather avoid. As for you hearing only three tracks out of ten, it is possible maybe the MP3 decoder library doesn't like the encoding of some MP3 files which it may skip playing. If you can provide links to the files so I can see what is going on then I can see if that is indeed the problem or maybe something else. This is still a new mod doing something complicated so there may be a few bugs still in various spots and I can't say for sure it is the random selection without more detail.
Oh I know, the fact that nobody have made a mod like this says a lot. The tracks were ripped from cd and converted by me to test the mod so if it's playing those three it should play the others. I recently started playing skyrim because you know, last time I played was five years ago with another account, I forgot my password and after several tries trying to reset the pass I gave up and made a new one, luckily I saved the mods, over 250 gigs and my converted music files for the personalized music mod but like you said, seems I'm doomed to not listen some of my music without repetition, but I hope you success.
