My game often crashes whenever I try to enter the Derelict Shack, and crashes 100% of the time when I try to enter the book. COC to other cells also causes instant CTD.
This was an interesting mod, unfortunately I am "locked out" of the Annals after going out to collect ruined books. It's fine though. I still sincerely enjoyed playing this.
Can't get anywhere near the house before the game freezes, I've tried coming in from every angle and same issue, game freezes when I get within a certain distance of the house, the distance is roughly from the house out to about the lighthouse as as soon as I get near the lighthouse if coming from the west, game freezes, it's that distance in a circle all the way around the house and as soon as I reach that distance no matter what direction I come from the game freezes.
I just waited when the game froze and it continued as normal after about 10 seconds. Commenters from last year seem to think it's a script getting stuck and waiting for it to time out is the solution.
I think I've ran into an issue, but I do have a question before I describe the issue since it might be related to it. Is this port of the original mod fully finished? After I collected manuscript one, three and six and placed them onto the altar, I tried to enter the "Waterlogged Passage". When I entered the passage I was able to see the area briefly before the screen turned black. I wasn't able to save the game or view my inventory, but I was able to move, jump and sheathe my weapon. I'm also unsure if I should ask for help here on the LE port or the original mod. Thanks in advance for any answers.
yeah i checked through it several times in CK, so unless my CK instellation messed up, it is complete. I'll give it another check though, just to be safe :) it could be a good idea to check on the original mod, this sounds like script issue to me, so maybe SlimeSire has some ideas as to what might be the problem sorry for the late reply btw, life is super busy rn :P
Were you with followers when you had that issue? If yes, then it's a problem with your hdt system, not the mod. I was able to go through the door and complete the quest, everything worked ok here.
thank you for the update! i hope they could join again in the future, with so much talented artists a quest mod will be something to remember, a AAA gaming experience for sure.
no problem! I'll probably keep porting and updating the mods as long as SlimeSire let's me and i can figure out how to keep things relatively stable :)
Hey there, thank you so much for making these ports, I have them all. It's so much needed quality content for LE. It's a shame this one don't seem to be working for many ppl. I guess I'll wait until a possible fix.
So for some reason every time I get near the Derelict Shanty or fast travel to it, my game instantly crashes. I tried disabling every single plugin except this one and it still crashes.
So I tried using the coc command to get myself inside the place and I managed to talk to Hermaeus Mora, only everytime I activate the book, I see a loading screen before crashing.
sorry to hear you guys are having problems, sadly i have 0 scripting experience and only port the mods, I don't tamper with any of the cells. I have checked the mod on both a modded and vanilla profile, and i don't have any issues, so next thing I can think of is installing the mod on a clean save, cleaning your save files, and perhaps check on the original mod page
I read your comment, decided to test to see if I was having the same problem, my game froze just like you said, but after I tabbed out to open the mod in xEdit the game woke back up. I went inside to see if I got hung up inside at the loading screen too, and I did, just like you, but I decided to wait and after about a minute it finished the area transition. So... I guess it works but there's some sort of script getting hung up and the workaround is to just wait for it to time out.
Alright, I tried some more, so far the shack both exterior and interior, and the Tale cell are the ones constantly causing crashes. The Hypogean Sanctuary and the home itself seem to be fine. At one point I managed to get to the shack without crashing for about 10 seconds and the textures seem to be messed up except I installed this with NMM and I don't have any mods that should be interfering.
The float up/down mechanic broke in one of my files. The option to do either doesn't appear. Reloading the area didn't help. I put in a bug report with a few more details.
