How are you liking the ESRGAN scaler? I have Gigapixel, and it's subject to a fair few pixel placement errors, forces me to spend a lot of time clone brushing fixes before getting down to the task at hand. Anything that would shortcut the process a bit, would be nice, if it's more accurate. ;)
Gigapixel is excellent for photos and artwork (and more recently videos), but not ideal for textures. It works well enough if you turn off all the extra settings and use your CPU to scale instead of your GPU (takes longer but you get sharper and more accurate results). You should probably still use ESRGAN for textures, just be careful not to mistake artifacts for detail (like some upscale mods on the Nexus do).
Agreed, although I've run into a few issues where multiple faces are involved in the image. Tend's to heavily distort one or more if in a large group shot. I'd definitely noted the cpu vs. gpu, & quality differences with the settings disabled a while back. Even still, it causes the situations I referred to earlier with photographic sources I use for natural textures. Thanks for the advice though, it's appreciated. :)
