For those that are having trouble adding the mod I'd recommend using AddItemMenu - https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/64905 If you want to use console to add the item then write [ help "black book" ] and add the items from the lines that read ARMO: (XX000D63) 'Black Book' ARMO: (XX000D65) 'Dull Black Book' or something similar.
How exactly did you put the book on the hand mesh? I'm trying to do the same thing with other items, but they don't appear on the player's hands, despite looking perfect in NifSkope. What's the trick? Edit: I've done some more tinkering and now I can get the game to crash when wielding the item, so I'm getting closer but still missing something
