Can someone please post a detailed step by step tutorial on how to add a gif to a mesh that isn’t a default plane?

I am trying to make an animated iris for the eyes.

Hi , The eye flame effect i made in preview image is done by equipment type which is part of necklace partition. But it's not the correct way to make the eyes effect.
Because it lost its interaction with facial expression.

      CustomMeshTemplate
      Step 1. Complete the pre-setup
Step 2. Overwrite the generated GifMeshTemplate.nif with the nif model you want to modify.

Just curious, is there a Fallout 3/NV equivalent of this program?

So would this somehow work with any custom nif? Or is your template somehow special? e.g. can I create a Ball in 3dsmax or so and project the gif on to the ball?

Texcon doesnt create any textures when launched by gif2nif. What do I have to do to make this thing work? I tried converting manually via texcon but textures didnt load.

It closes too quickly, i cant really tell. Everything is fine on your program part - without texcon it creates png and nif files.

Maybe caused by firewall , Antivirus software or system user authority I guess .

Can you tell arguments which you use to invoke texcon? Maybe there is a possibility to do it manually

      My command line call:
      exePath -o TextureOutputFolderPath -y -w textureSize -h textureSize -f BC1_UNORM outputPngPath

      For more information see :

So i tried to load png created by gif2nif as a texture into mesh... And It worked! Without texcon. Do we even need texcon to create textures?

Yeah , you are right.I just realized that.
Cause NifSkop not accept png image , so I thought it's fail to read in game.
Maybe i can change texcon to selective use.
But Why use DDS ? What is advantage of using DDS textures ?
I take a little google research. An article mentioned that DDS textures use less memory.
I can't explain it in detail. But DDS(Direct Draw Surface) is useful...

Maybe our nifskope version is different.
I use png texture. Then i saw the plane displayed in pink.
And it is animated in game too.
