Update:  I bought Skrim SE-AE on sale for $10 US this week, and I'm happy to report that this mod works with it. It's not surprising, since it adds only non-DLC items with a new enchantment to a non-DLC location, i.e. Helgen Keep. Last year I got the Dragonborn DLC on sale and enjoyed it, but I've never seen anyone explain why Dawnguard or Hearthfire was worth buying, so now I can find out for myself.

Per J.R.R. Tolkien's writings, the One Ring merely (but significantly) augments it's wearer's existing skills. Hobbits are already good at going unnoticed, so the Ring makes them invisible. Instead, this mod's enchantment provides a range of defensive advantages. In that sense this mod follows Sheogorath's philosophy, who said (in the ES4 DLC) "I don't like losing, and I don't mind cheating". If that bothers you, increase your difficulty setting to compensate. If you haven't played the ES 4 DLC, it's worth the price in my opinion.

Surprised this hasn't been downloaded more. I do something like this in-game every time (usually in stages, like give everyone custom muffle boots, given them a health ring, etc.) Will be convenient to have it all in one enchantment, though I'm going to add waterbreathing to it. Not for me; I'm fine with doing the non-cheat stuff. I just get tired of crafting up utility widgets for my endless river of followers. I think I have more followers in more house mods than there are regular NPCs at this point, ha ha.

NPCs cannot drown, so WaterBreathing isn't needed for followers. But is seems you know how to make such a change in the CK so I salute you for doing it. Remember: cheating is binary, either you are or you aren't. So cheat all you want as long as the game is fun.

Geez, now I sound like Sanguine. I assure you I'm not him, but wouldn't mind it if I were. As I write this, I'm having an unspecified amount of mead...keeping track of the amount is no fun.
