If Reachmen are Bretons, and Bretons are descended from men and elves, doesn't it stand to reason that Reachmen are likely descended from Ancient Nords and Elves (possibly even Snow Elves)? So its possible, even likely that at least one faction of native Bretons would have worshiped the Old Nordic gods.
Also, the Reachmen's faith, while interesting is so utterly unexplored there isn't even really enough to make a mod about it unless you start making stuff up (which I assume is why it wasn't in Wintersun).
So anyone trying to rp their Breton as a native of the Reach come home to rediscover their roots is kind of out of options if they use this mod.
...I still freaking love this mod, btw. Even if I strongly object to leaving out Bretons, its frankly more acknowledgement than most of these guys get in any other mod.
Time to update this. It's five versions behind now. Basically no one is going to use it in 2021, since they would have to downgrade Wintersun A LOT, and probably introduce bugs that were fixed long ago. It's a great idea, but it needs at least a base level of maintenance.
It's also completely inconsistent with the description "Nords are most deserving" to bar anyone but Nords, even Bretons (who split off from early Nords, i.e. back when this pantheon was dominant in northern Human culture).
(Some) Bretons are actually descendants of Ancient Nords/Atmorans "Bretons are connected only in their language, geographic location, and the ancient rift that separated them from their Nordic progenitors, the Night of Tears" "The Reachmen are a mongrel breed, even for Bretons. Descended originally from one of the earliest Atmoran tribes to settle Tamriel, their lineage now partakes of nearly every race imaginable."
Yeah, I'm pretty sure this was the rationale behind adding Bretons in the first place. While the Reachmen have their own faith (little that we know about it), its not only possible but likely there were converts. Well, after the dragon priests were gone.
No SE version planned, as I don't have a copy of it, nor do I know how to port it in the first place. I'm pretty sure there's some tutorials on youtube though.
This makes so much more sense. We learned from Froki that the Old Ways were different from the Nine. Though he wasn't super clear as to how, aside from introducing us to the trail of Kyne.
...Does it blow anyone's mind that the mage god Julianos was a native and beloved part of old Nord society. Jhunal god of hermetic orders, celebrated as the bringer of the writen word and honored by bards. Then he just *faded* into nothing. I feel like he'll be trendy again once the ES world has its version of the romanticism movement.
For the mod can you add the ability for imperials to worship the gods, due to some of the northern provinces in cyrodyiil and the southern provinces in Skyrim having mixed populations of both nords and imperials it would be more than likely for some imperials to have worshiped the gods alongside evidence of some of them already worshiping kyne, Mara, and shor.
Can't really say that I agree with the idea. The Old Ways were mainly worshiped by the Ancient Nords and Atmorans. Not so much the Nedes and Imperials.
True but that doesn't exactly stop anyone who's ancestors from Italy, Kenya or Korea from worshiping the real life Norse pantheon. But real talk, your playing as a mysterious stranger who's entangled with anceint forces- one that depending on how your playing it, might be going hardcore native regardless whether their a Nord, a Breton, or a Khajit. One of the answers your High Elf dragonborn can give to 'why do you fight for the Stormcloaks' is "Skyrim belongs to the Nords!" That's not any larger of a cognitive dissonance than taking the race restrictions off some or all of the faiths. Or at least allowing them to be removed under certain conditions. Though come to think maybe I should put all this on the original mod's page? (PS Sorry, I ramble)
