Any idea how to get this to work with a controller? I can set it up to use the keyboard with the controller, but it will only do the meditation. It will not bring up the wait menu. I have to use the controller to bring up the wait menu. It works fine without the controller — great mod either way.
In fact, the reason why the waiting menu could show up automatically when you meditate is caused by this script function: Input.TapKey(Input.GetMappedKey("Wait")).
So, it just automatically types down the originally wait key for you to open the wait menu.
I guess perhaps the "GetMappedKey" script function can't recognize the wait key from the controller cause this issue. I will check it later see if it can be fixed.
Thanks for the info. I'll keep an eye out for a future fix. I'll still be using it as it is, and ill keep trying to figure out a way around this as I will not give up my controller. Great mod, my friend.
You have to run "Generate FNIS for Users" (in the "Tool" folder) and click "Update FNIS Behavior". Or else it would show that pop up, as the game cannot perform the required animation
Awesome mod, but the "wait window" doesn't appear to me when I press the hotkey, the animation works but the character just stands up again... What could be the problem?
Me too, but in my situation the 'wait window' appear (without black transition). The animation works but the character stands up again, then 'wait window' show up. I'm not using gamepad.
I had the same issue but on Skyrim SE and managed to fix it. I have described it in in a bug report on "Witcher Style Meditate Waiting SE" you can read there in more detail if you are interested. TLDR version is to change the ENB as it is what causes it. If you want to be sure. Open your ENB settinggs ctrl+enter or "end" key on your keyboard and disable the "Use effect" option for a moment and with it disabled check it the issue persists or not, I just had to change to a different enb and the issue was resolved.
I constantly get "Fail to enter Meditation" when I press T. I mapped "Wait" to NumLock, and mapped T for Meditation, then if I press T, the HUD disappears, for a few seconds, then it comes back to say "Fail to enter Meditation". FNIS has been ran, mod has been reinstalled.
And so I have removed the mod entirely, loaded my save up, then installed the mod, ran FNIS again, loaded the game, mapped a key to meditate, but when I pressed it, it once more said "Fail to enter Meditation"
I have updated FNIS, reinstalled the mod again, ran FNIS, I can now wait, and use it as waiting, but my character just T poses and stays like that, the waiting menu appearing and working without any problems. Well, the problem fixed itself in a mysterious way, like it has, many more times in Skyrim. Thank you for your continuous support and for trying to help me through everything!
I guess perhaps you have inserted too many new animations through FNIS. I don't know what mods you have used can contains 172 new animations (Mine only added 3) I heard that there is a numbers limit for new animations added by FNIS.
I just LOVE this mod!! This mod is never leaving my load order. So simple...yet makes a a very big difference. A very great roleplay enhancer.
Suggestion for the future: Add the option to allow you to sit without sleep or wait. Like tick to allow wait and untick to prevent it and just sit down.

I had found some information from this link: https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrimmods/comments/3rvlyr/skse_with_better_gamepad_key_support/
It seems there is a defect in the skse function which caused the "TapKey" script function will not work when using gamepad.
Therefore, it's far out of my ability to fix this issue. We now have to wait the SKSE Develop Team to fix this scirpt defect.

Check if the animations files (HKX files) are put in the correct folder.
Also, check your FNIS Version, make sure you are using the newest one.
