Description:

Ever wanted to use those flashy sword slashes with weapons other than Two-Handed Swords

Thanks to elysees allowing me to rework some of their scripts, both FreeStyle Katana Kustom (contained in the Modpack elysees LE) and BerserkStyle Blade Kustom will now work with:

  • One-handed Swords
  • One-handed Daggers
  • One-handed Axes/Maces
  • Two-handed Swords
  • Two-handed Axes/Hammers
  • Dual Wielding any combination of melee weapons

As with the original mods, these spells empower your Melee Power Attacks and will cause them to create slash trails that do AoE damage to enemies around you.

When dual wielding, both weapons will create their own slashes.

The damage scales with your Onehanded skill or Twohanded skill, whichever is higher.

NOT usable while unarmed (because punches should not result in your enemy being slashed).

Added a small amount of screenshake for a more impactful feel.

  • Special Attack added: When doing a Sprint Power Attack (need "Critical Charge" Perk to unlock), 5 Consecutive Slashes will be created, similar to the "Rapid Slash" mod.

How to install?

  • Install either of the original Mods ( FreeStyle Katana Kustom, BerserkStyle Blade Kustom) by elysees. I recommend using only ONE, but it's possible to run both at the same time.
  • Overwrite BskAbilityBerserkStylishScript.pex for BerserkStyle or FreeStyleQuestScript.pex for FreeStyle (located within the "scripts" subfolder of the respective mod) with the files from this mod. Make backups of the original files if physically replacing, or just use MO
  • Slash away

Notes:
  • Keep in mind that the visual effects of these mods were created for a very specific set of power attack animations and will look misaligned with the actual blade's trajectory when using any other animations. The anims for FreeStyle are contained within the Smokin' Sick Style mod's optional files, but when creating BerserkStyle elysees was using different animations.
  • Also note that Freestyle was designed for use with weaponspeedmult 1.4

Slightly more technical note:

Nothing in the way these mods were designed actually prevented them from working with all weapon types. It just seems like Skyrim's engine/behaviour graph for some reason sends the AnimationEvents for "power attack" that the script is listening to ONLY if a two-handed sword is equipped. By registering for different events I need to also store a few animation variables, but personally noticed no loss of performance compared to the original.
