======= Spells and Skills From Fire Emblem Shadows of Valentia ======================
======= 1.2 ReadMe

+++++++ Installation

- This mod is for 32-bit Skyrim on the PC.

- Requires the latest updated version of Skyrim.

- Requires the latest version of SKSE. SKSE can be found at

https://skse.silverlock.org/

- SkyUI mod by the SkyUI Team is not required for the mod to work, but it has to be installed if you want to be able to access customization options via its Mod Customization Menu. SkyUI can be found at

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/3863

- To install, preferably use a mod manager.

- To install manually, unzip the contents of SpellsandSkillsFESoV_1.2.zip into your Skyrim/Data folder.

- To uninstall, it's a good idea to make a clean save as you uninstall. Specifically,

1) Make sure that no magic effects from combat arts or spells are active in-game when you decide to uninstall. This means:
either
1a) If you have SkyUI installed, click on the "prepare to uninstall" option in the "Misc." tab of the menu and then go to step 2)
or instead
1b) If you don't have SkyUI, find the Valentian Knapsack on the side of Carlotta Valentia's house in Whiterun and look for a spell tome called "Spell Tome: Uninstall". Cast that spell and wait a couple of seconds, then go to step 2)
2) Make a save in the "[New Game]" slot.
3) Exit Skyrim and
either
3a) Uninstall with a mod manager
or instead
3b) Manually remove all traces of SpellsandSkillsFESoV_1.2.zip from your Skyrim/Data folder.

4) Start Skyrim from the new slot made in step 2. Ignore the warning about missing content.
5) Make another save in the "[New Game]" slot.
6) Exit Skyrim again.
7) That's it! Play from the save made in step 5 for that character from now on to minimize the chances of anything going wrong later.

+++++++ Compatability

- To create a detailed list of any possible conflicts with other mods yourself, as well as to resolve conflicts, I recommend using the xEdit tool, which can be downloaded at:

http://tes5edit.github.io/

- The only changes this mod makes to the things already existing Skyrim are that:
1) It edits the Akatosh, Kynareth, and Talos shrines by attaching a script to them.
2) It edits Whiterun by placing a bag with all the items next to Carlotta Valentia's house.

- If you have another mod that doesn't make any overlapping changes to 1) or 2), there shouldn't be any conflicts between the two mods. It's possible that there could still be temporary conflicts, as in for example, a combat art from this mod might have a similar effect as a perk from a perk mod, and the two effects might conflict. But I don't know about any mods that do conflict this way.

- If you ARE using other mods that also make edits to those Akatosh, Talos, and/or Kynareth shrines and you don't want to make a compatibility patch, it's probably better to let those other mods load after this one because my edit to those shrines isn't critical for this mod to function.

- The items, spell tomes, and weapons from this mod are distributed to leveled lists by script on startup rather than by explicit changes, so it's not necessary to make a bashed patch.

+++++++ Changelog

1.0 - First release
1.1 - Added MCM menu support with SkyUI for customization options. Fixed a few inconsistent text errors. Fixed a bug where enchanted weapons with the "Vendetta" enchanted combat art would give the wrong combat art. Rebalanced the power of a handful of combat arts.
1.2 - Added new spells, fixed the issue that customization options in the MCM didn't persist after closing the game, added more options to the MCM, improved compatibility since the mod no longer uses custom collision layers, most spells got a visual and sound effect makeover, fixed a couple of minor bugs, and rebalanced and changed some details for a handful of existing spells.

+++++++ Credits

- The SKSE team for making many parts of this mod possible.
- The SkyUI team for making it possible for this mod to use SkyUI's features.
- Kosorsomesaykosm and noptasis, who made the "Arcanum - A New Age of Magic" mod available on Nexus, for making some of visual effects in this mod possible as I used one of the models in Arcanum as a base.
- Bethesda for giving us Skyrim and the Creation Kit to make mods with.
- Nintendo for making Fire Emblem which was the inspiration for this fan mod.
