Unfortunately the British people are as hateful as they are stupid and they're so consumed by deliberately misleading and scaremongering media that we're pretty much doomed to forever vote for the most blatantly scummy and incompetent government possible.
People would rather vote for their own poverty, the increase in foodbanks, the death of unions, the death of the NHS, the loss of their own pensions and even the death of the planet simply because a hate-filled rag like the Daily Mail tells them that the "woke parade" is the enemy. That's enough to get idiots to vote against their own interests because "immigration is bad" despite the fact the Conservative government is in control of immigration and has been for decades.
The best part of all this, of course, is that the shining beacon of hope for the Union Jack waving, royalty loving, football hooligan, racists majority of pricks in this country, Brexit was a massive failure. The same morons who voted for "independence" and "sovereignty " with Brexit are the same dipshits now complaining about 10 hour plus ambulance wait times, decade long doctor wait times and empty store shelves. All problems caused by removing our hateful little shitty island from the EU because; as it turns out, immigrants were a huge part of our work force in sectors like healthcare and haulage.
Frankly at this point I say it's good that we f***ed ourselves so royally because we so sorely deserve it. Hated by every country, poorer than we've ever been and now literally scorched and flooded at the same time. May we sink into obscurity and become the new Atlantis beneath the North Sea when the inevitable global floods begin. Rule Britannia. We're fucked. :)
Sad and frustrating as when you think of all the money and power of the top 5% and governments combined ... if that was all used to fight climate issues, help other people, and otherwise used for good versus selfish greed... a lot of problems could be solved.
Ah well hard to work around human nature it seems.
Sad really, the basics of human decency have become polarising political opinions. We're not alone, this kind of disillusion is becoming common all across the world, even in the supposedly successful countries.
Hey ho, the world is the Titanic and those in charge don't care if it sinks because they've got all the lifeboats. :/
