A little side lore on Wulver's Eye as a refresher. Before Wulver came to Skyrim he had been in another universe, plane, dimension ... whatever you prefer to call it. He had been attacked by an ancient enemy. He would have died if not for his latent power to planes walk. While his power normally transports him to a completely random destination in the multi-verse it more often then not seems to have a mind all its own. It transported him to an almost dead plane; a universe at the end of its cycle. Dying, he was found by an alien entity, the last of its kind. It referred to itself simply as Monk, a description it had pulled from Wulver's mind that it felt was the closest fit.

He did his best to heal Wulver but he was not familiar with humanoid physiology. He let the body heal itself by speeding up the process and pulling information from Wulver's own memories. Yet Wulver's eye was destroyed and Monk could not figure out how to generate a new one. So It inserted an artifact It transformed into an eye-like-orb that would function as Wulver's new eye. Beneath the semi-transparent white orb It inscribed words of power that meant "Truth". The eye would let Wulver see the truth of reality - see through illusion and falsehood. Yet it was really too powerful for a simple being like Wulver to control, for it also let him see visions of past and future and into other planes of existence. When it let him see other realms it often attracted the unwanted attention of powerful entities from those realms, sensing the inter-planar spying. It sometimes showed wonders but also showed stuff of nightmares. So Wulver does his best to not activate it unless he really has to. Once he was healed he planes-walked again and this time he arrived in Skyrim.

    ...

If curious I based some of the above on a book I read by Michael Moorcock called the Knight of Swords. It would take far too much writing to really explain the eye from the trilogy of books. But will put a quote from WIKI below on it. It was a good fit since Michael Moorcock does a lot of writing about Chaos and Order. I got a lot of inspiration from his works with some of Wulver's background in regards to his Chaos heritage (as well as Norse mythology and, of course,  my own imagination). Wulver is also a little like Jhary-a-Conel (for those who might know the series).

Travelling to Moidel's Castle, Corum encounters his future lover, the Margravine Rhalina, a mabden woman of the civilized land of Lwym an Esh. Having found out Corum's location by torturing and killing the Brown Man of Laar, Glandyth-a-Krae marshalled his allies to Moidel's Castle. Glandyth had kept Corum's former hand and eye as souvenirs, and showed them to Corum to provoke a reaction. Rhalina uses sorcery (a ship summoned from the depths of the ocean and manned by her drowned dead husband and crew) to ward off an attack by Glandyth-a-Krae. Determined to restore himself, Corum and Rhalina travel to the island of Shool, a near immortal and mad sorcerer. During the journey Corum observes a mysterious giant who trawls the ocean with a net. On arrival at the island Shool takes Rhalina hostage, and then provides Corum with two artifacts to replace his lost hand and eye: the Hand of Kwll and the Eye of Rhynn. The Eye of Rhynn allows Corum to see into an undead netherworld where the last beings killed by Corum exist until summoned by the Hand of Kwll.

This is such fantastic and very beautiful set with eerie atmosphere that points that these are visions and dreams. Thank you very much for mentioning Dannee and her adventures! This was such cool and interesting way to see Wulver progress in various quests in this form of visions caused by the Elder Scroll. Also there was great and detailed additional information about how Wulver’s blind eye works and I love to see the more lore being featured. The information about "The Knight of Swords" book was very interesting too!

Thank you Nataly :-) It's way to keep his story lore intact while also playing the actual game, at least certain quests. Many quests don't really conflict with his history but the main one and the DLC usually do. So he is just somewhat experiencing them as a vision/dream. It was also a good way to incorporate some more the lore around his unusual eye.

This is one of the best sets ever seen here in the Skyrim area, if not THE best! The images are so powerful and beautiful, I am a bit out of words tbh. This is real art my friend! count your endorsments by ten, since that is what its really deserves.

Heh thanks Tanja. Sometimes I can break away from my usual and do something different. Although most of these were simply from my usual style of game play and the fact I can't ever seem to stick to a single ENB or even setting. Always tweaking and adjusting to find some new look ... all while playing between that lol.

Hello my friend! I began catching up with your creations chronologically.
First of all i want to state that i'm a huge fan of Michael Moorcock and i love both Elric and Corum sagas!
In the photo below there are 2 books in Greek, one for each saga:

The left is the "Fortress of the Pearl" and the right is "The Sword and the Stallion"!
I also have in my Shield universe Cerwiden, a Grandmaster who is from Elric's universe and unaturally found herself in Skyrim after traversing a Moonbeam road!

It all makes sense now with Wulver and the Eye of Rhynn and maybe why you chose Thrynn as one of your main characters! Or maybe i have too much imagination! Haha!
The dream was a real spectacle to watch and very cinematographic! I catched myself scrolling up and down in a weird time-loop!
Paarthumax's mind-penetrating look gave me the chills! Like tearing through the various kalpas in need for communication!
In awe of the image of Wulver flying over the ES Dwemer mechanism! It reminded me of the glorious main poster of the 1985 film "Brazil"!
A flying shapeshifter Dragonborn with the Eye of Rhynn would surely captivate my wholeness!
Werewolf, Alduin and then a moth....!!! An Ancestor Glade Moth! The Imp fitting in Dragonborn shoes in a magically symbiotic way!
The B&Ws are fantastic! With a Wulverish Harkon facing Serana! Man i loved it!
I lost a little the semiology at the end with Vero and Wulver observing from above! Need a little help here!
The accompanying illustrations were beautiful and heavily artistic!
    I really enjoyed it Jon!

Wow, I wasn't sure I would find anyone around here who knew those books and author. Besides being a bit esoteric they are old. Nice to see someone else has enjoyed them. Elric is awesome - very cool character. Love all the chaos/order stuff by Moorcock.

Wulver doesn't actually have that eye of course. It was more the base idea - his is very different in function. It was more I liked the concept of a powerful artifact that would replace a damaged eye with both good and bad effects, a blessing and a curse of sorts.

Thrynn is a vanilla character - from the Rogues Guild. I simply made him a follower. Wulver hangs out with him because he has a thing for big rugged guys with sarcastic humor and Thrynn fit the bill. Besides Thrynn took a liking to him for some reason so they started to hang out a lot.

The shots at the end were more just random ones. I am playing a lot with Wulver but since his game play doesn't always match his story lore and history the dreams and visions is simply a way to explain while Wulver is doing things that don't exist in his story lore. So those shots are just memories Wulver has that he is sharing.

Thanks kindly for the comment and the book images! Glad they got translated as well. Hope you are starting to feel better.

Wicked set my friend! I love the gauzy effects with the lightrays, especially in the title pic. I usually favour cranking the sharpness dial to 11 when I take shots, but here is something to be said for a softer look too

Many thanks! aye I sometimes use a more crisp ENB like Rudy's but for fantasy, like Skyrim, I often go for a softer look. But really depends on my mood :)

Fantastic set, Jon. They are all gorgeous, the main, the moths, the dragons, locations and finally the last of Vero.
Interesting idea with the visions caused by his eye in order to get all the events of the quest, which were already done by someone else, in your own story.

      Thanks Gerd!

The compromise for when you decide to do cross-over stories not only with other authors/users but also in your own world. Wulver's story takes place in the world I created for Grim. In fact all my characters take place in that world (except the two characters I made before Grim and before I was really modding or around Nexus much).

Grim's world and lore is one that mixes with Nataly's characters. Which means I have adapted a lot of things from her timeline. Not all of course - we worked out that during the Unmaking (which was similar to a dragon break) the worlds merged and overlapped and alternative time lines intertwined in some places. So not too strict about it (as that is no fun and too limiting) but at least provides some rationale for things.

Even if I hadn't decided to cross over, and Grim had killed Alduin, Harkon, and Miraak ... I would still want to do those quest lines with Wulver. So its a balance of game play fun with story lore.

So sharing dreams/visions and pretending Wulver is walking through the events as a type of simulation of reality works fine. I do the same in FO4 since I have no desire for my character there to be married with a kid and that whole plot line. So all that stuff I consider a holotape, memories of someone else, etc.

Wulver is predestined for this with his eye.
Visions are a good and practical solution for cross-over stories.
Especially when the imagined worlds differ from each other.

My world, which I have taken as a background for both of my stories, and will also use for future ones, is not yet clearly defined.
The actors there take on different roles than in my playthroughs. The listener from my last story is not a character of mine but made especially for it.
The other factions will also receive their "heroes" this way. So far I only have one determined for the Dawnguard quest series and the archmage. Both are no characters and made especially for my world. If I find the time I will also create the other "heroes" in order to have as complete a background world as possible for the future stories.

First of all, I have to admit that I didn't read what you wrote - not because of disrespect (I like the way you write) but I am just not in the mood for words and only wanted to enjoy the images.....and I DID enjoy them.
The colores and atmosphere and also this aggressive glance from the dragon ?are amazing and the DOF adds a kind of dynamic as if it is just about to spread its wings and start the attack.
With this ?one, I like the 'concrete' and darker grass in the front that makes the dense fog even more 'swallowing', know what I mean? Wonderful colors too.
This dragon ?makes me nearly sad - gathering his last strength and will, to raise and fly for the last time. Touching.
The ?shimmer and the highlighted parts are just wonderful - it makes me want to touch the leather from the cloak. Very intense.
Oh - and this ?one.........holy s***, that's an absolutely handsome and manly appearance - fantastic armor and even more fantastic face and I love the dynamic of the pose.Thank you so much.

Thanks very much Aza for the wonderful feedback.  I decided to summon the dragon from the Soul Cairn so that was him. I had gotten attacked suddenly by another powerful dragon and was unprepared for it. It was a great battle as it was night with a big thunder and lightning storm happening. The visuals were top notch and only wish I could have gotten better screenshots. Something that dynamic tends to lose a lot in a flat image.

The other image was Wulver in his beast form scouting ahead in the fog. The second dragon is Paarth up on his mountain. I am also pleased you liked the Noir like BW shot of Wulver and Serana talking in a sort of a dream visit to the past.

The last shot of Vero is also a favorite. I have another nice one of him I plan on posting in a bit as well.

These are all great, but the ones with Wulver floating in the middle of the oculory are really beautiful :) The lore is also very interesting and so detailed. All my characters get is "he's a thalmor spy who is starting to doubt some of his beliefs" or "he's an aspiring mage who joins the college to learn about necromancy" or "he's a thief" :D

Oh thanks for visiting and the nice comment :-)

Well I tend to go overboard on lore for characters but then I make very few that I plain as main. Wulver is really only my second main character for Skyrim (the other is Grim, who I played for 6 years and still have) and been playing him a couple years now. So lots of time to build up his life history, adventures, and personality.

Is really interesting how the Scroll shows things to Wulver from the perspective of Dragonborn. The duality of the origin of the artifact in his eye is also quite interesting, and although I have not read these books, I know them by name. I was interested now to read. Great pictures, Jon!

Oh hey, thanks for checking out the images Larys! I know I have been posting a lot more lately. Seems to come and go with my mood these days.

I grew up reading fantasy, thousands of books .. used to read 2-3 a week easy. Not as much now as I do gaming and my own writing but still try to read a few books each year. Always liked Michael Moorcock's stories, especially the whole idea of an Eternal Champion fighting for Chaos and Order. It made a lasting impression on me. There are some other books that deal with the whole cosmic chaos vs. order thing, as well as the balance, which I have also read and love.

Captain Sayid of the Black Wolf Company is a Gray Lord, which is a powerful immortal agent of chaos and order whose job is to keep the balance between chaos and order ... as too much of either means the end.
