I have one more post for Kenshi with some reshade images which look much better but my love for gaming is some what dying.
I should also mention DJ aki in the video, he put me and my mate on the guest list for a night at the club Womb in Shibuya on our first night in Tokyo with two british dj's playing Fabio and grooverider. we thought it was gonna be some small bar with maybe 40 people inside but it was one of the biggest club venues in Tokyo with 4000 people there lol :)
I hated Vortex at first, but once I got to understand how well it handles mod conflict resolution I love it. It really lets you decide load order by conflict well.
My Kenshi images were really more about me bringing awareness of the game to people and gather some interest in it. its a small indie company game which won't hurt your gpu's but might heat up your cpu a bit..
Still hoping to see you around and hoping you'd find your love for gaming again, somehow for most of us it ends as an escape from the real world.
As for vortex or nmm, I've never used any, so dunno what they're good or bad to xD
If you're on your way, I wish you the best, do what makes you happy
Take care Mr. C.
I also disliked Vortex compared to NMM, which I was devoted to. But I also wanted a manager that was supported and made to handle future games. I decided to only use it for FO4. Took about 6 weeks for me to adapt. First 4 weeks I hated it but wanted to give it time. By the 6th week I was no longer lost using it, I knew my way around its pros and cons, and was able to do most things I could with NMM. A few months later I liked it enough to convert all my games over to it - Pillars, Skyrim LE, DAO, ME, Pathfinder, FNV. I haven't regretted it. It also made modding for a few of my older games easier as well - DAO for an example which I am currently replaying for the first time with a few mods.
I think Nexus will survive, if anything it is going better than ever and there is a strong community around it with lots of new and old players.
But not much can be done about losing interest in the hobby. It happens. I know I had some very long dry spells where I didn't game for years.
Hopefully you will find a replacement hobby that gives you some enjoyment and entertainment!
My gaming has gone back to gameplay basics. Making images was fun but a distraction and I didn't really play games at that time. I don't see myself buying any more bethesda games unless they go back to something closer to morrowind. I just like openworlds that don't hold your hand.
I refound this Mitsuko set I had put together some while back so I thought I'd upload while I add my last pics of Kenshi which I used a reshade with. I never used a free camere with my kenshi shots I just toggled the menu off.
I have only downloaded one mod in the last few months from the Nexus and that was because it was only on the Nexus and that was for Bannerlord. My PC can just about handle that as long as I avoid big battles. Skyrim became more about making characters than playing a game with limited role playing, it had basically become sims 4 but with out gameplay..
Right now a dry spell for games I am interested in which is why I am playing old games over again or newer games I might have only played once. And I am sure why I remain with FO and Skyrim still. Think August might be the first game release date for something I am interested in. Most that I am tracking won't be till 2021.
I have a friend who was treating FO4 like SIMS so they finally tried SIM4 and now play that every night instead.
I look to old games now obviously because of my puter capabilities but there's a lot of good stuff I missed, but even new games I buy are small or indie studios because the people making them just love making them and money is secondary and it shows in their game.
Bethesda seem only interested in money and Bioware well i don't know what happened to them everyone with any creativity left for some reason.
I worry about DA4 myself, although I am curious to see the long saga end. DAO is my favorite in the series. While I prefer the visuals in the Skyrim and FO world, Morrowind is still my favorite for atmosphere and overall game mechanics. That was a real game.
I do a decent amount of Indie games as well - mostly RPG. A lot are turn based these days, however, and I can no longer do those (lack the patience). DDOS2 was the last turn based I managed.
Cheers :)
I use the community version of the NNM for my old Skyrim installation which I have moved from Vista to win10 one year ago and it works well.
Perhaps you can find an easy way to solve those technical things, but if you lost your interest toplay your old games, I can understand that you need a break ... but ... never say never
Mitsuko is a wonderful women with so many facets and I hope, to see her or other pictures from you here again in future.
Especially your virtuous work with light and shadows gave me always inspiration .
Thank you!
If you are looking for a good open world game with a good story, I would propose Enderal to you. You can get it for free on steam if you own Skyrim. It is a completly own game on the engine from Skyrim
I never say Never but I don't want to make images anymore and other than skyrim there's no reason for me to use the Nexus sadly. It was baldur's gate and Morrowind that brought me here a long time ago and just a accident I got into making images.
I don't have technical problems, my PC is aging badly now but for what games I do play other platforms are much easier to install mods than Vortex for those games but I use less mods anyway now.
I think the only game i'm interested in getting now is Rimworld and I'm only interested if it drops price in the sales but it nevers does so I won't get it. I keep finding a lot of indie games which seem to have more love from the developers than any Bethesda or Bioware game nowadays.
I have looked at Enderal but it doesn't grip me and my Skyrim folder is already too big. Deleting Skyrim and mod contents will probably free up half my hard drive lol.
If people like you take inspiration from anything I did then my work will live on but it won't be me doing it and I think people like yourself have already taken it to the next level and people after you will do the same.
As for Vortex, I don't use it, but I went to the "Community version" of NMM and I'm still using it...and I'm pleased to say it hasn't let me down so far.
Mitsuko is in every way utterly charming...but you know who my darling is. ;)
I live in hope that we'll see you here again, but if not I would like to thank you for the absolute joy of seeing your images and sets.
Ganbatte
All the best,
Les
My Kenshi images are really just trying to say to people give this game a go if you like the look of it. I can't add anything new to my skyrim images which I hadn't already done 2 + years ago and I have already moved on but as I said before its nice to pop back and say hi I ain't dead yet.
Unless something big happens in my life my gaming won't allow me to come back here even if I wanted too I have moved on but its sometimes hard to let go but nostalgia can only go so far.
take care friend and you may see me comment when i had a few beers
I can imagine that gaming and the way you are used to play games is changing. It's probably an ever evolviingg cycle with newcomers at the frontdoor and and veteran player leaving .
I hope it's not to much out of discontent, because considering the work you produced and the joy you have brought to many people it's a "career" you can look back on very proudly ....
It's a pity to see you go, but I understand the reasoning well,...
Wishing you all the best in whatever other occupation you may find
I find more fun in smaller studio games now and they seem to be made by people who are focused on gameplay and not how to make money and it really shows in their games. Hat of the to the who made Kenshii he did most by himself and only brought other in when it started to get to big for him. Kenshi has a really big modding community but I sadly I don't come to the Nexus for those mods though the Nexus does have a lot.
i've never used nmm and switched from obmm to mo in 2015 still playing oblivion sometimes with this setup. while never happy with obmm modding is fun since i use mo/mo2 for all my bethesda games and i'm sure even vortex does a great job since it is developed by the same author. i can confirm that things have changed somehow since 2006 and i also hate the big brother habit of bethesda and steam to flood and urge users with updates while using it to infiltrate free modding more and more in a bad way.
all the best to you and just wait until you miss your beautiful games
I have yet to boot up vortex, instead I use an old NMM from before profiles I manually modded my FO4
You have a great eye for detail and composition and your contasts are always great, not to mention your stunning characters
Be well!
