Generally, need to process photos in Photoshop. Probably.
And if there is a desire and time. I sometimes do it, and sometimes I download it as it is.

Yeah, I do that same process too. Thanks for your opinion!

For nexus, while I do use things like Rudy ENB and facelight while in game to make things look better, after that I always upload the raw image right out of my game - well, except for one single image recently that I wanted to upload - but it had a slight wardrobe malfunction which I fixed before uploading because I didn't want to turn on the "adult images" flag. As for what editor I use? I use irfanview for a lot of things outside of screenshots, and I use Gimp for more complicated things and doing retextures. The only reason I don't use Photoshop is because I am too cheap to buy it, and I certainly wouldn't steal it. And also the free tools work great.

Now, that said - I have no problem with folks tweaking their screenshots before uploading - although personally I would like to know when that is done so I don't wonder how to make my game match their "improved" screenshots. But to be honest, the main reason I don't change them might be because I upload large image sets, often with more than 20 images... sometimes a lot more... and I am way to lazy to "improve" that many screenshots.

Finally - I think your character, outfit, and game look great in the images above, both before and after the "improvement".

Thank you! Yeah, I've always edited all my images with PS since I already had it before, took 4 years of graphics and a year of digital photo. It does become a pain to edit your set when you have 20+ images in one set! xD

Generally, I don't do any external editing of my pictures (but if I do, there's usually a disclaimer towards the beginning of the post) unless it's for something like.. well, subtitles I've had to do a few times. For me, it's not issue of integrity or quality loss but more so just me being lazy since all my uploads are like 25+ images long Most edits can be done in-game anyway by fiddling with the ENB console for a bit like the pictures you've shown. It depends on your ENB though since a lot of ENBs aren't able to be edited dynamically which is the main reason (and probably the only reason because I'm honestly really bored of it) why I use Snapdragon ENB since it's got everything from LUTs to full control of all post-processing.

Just do what you like, tbh. Of course, asking for opinions is always a good idea but you don't have to change what you want to do just because others do something differently. If you want to edit the pics afterwards, don't let anything stop you just enjoy yourself.

Lol, I would hate to edit 25+ for one set. Like you said, it is my choice; just always good to get advice once in awhile. Thank you!

I always enjoy hearing about other folks' artistic process. I'm an inveterate 'shopper myself. Almost always it's just a bit of fussing with the levels or curves. I find that an image in-game often looks like it has a wider range between highlights and shadows, but when it sits on the screen within a border, against other windows, or in a Nexus image scroll that contrast appears reduced. So while I'm converting the format from bmp to png I'll take a minute to drop the shadows and bump the highlights back to where I like 'em.

Occasionally I'll lose some of depth of detail with high-poly or highly detail textured surfaces towards the middle of the tonal balance (skin, cloth, metal- that sort of thing). It looks like you're running into the same thing here: your unedited picture has perfectly tonally balanced cloth and slightly flat but very chromatically rich skin, whereas the edited image 'pops' more due to the heightened contrast, but has lost most of the detail and depth in both skin and cloth. When that happens, I'll either pay more attention to the middle part of the tonal curve, get my contrast through manipulation of the color balance of the shadows, or just post the image in original form.

Either way, nicely made character and lovely shot!
