I like the human forms for Skoll and Hati. Good chapter, but I'm feeling some may not survive this tale of Alpha proportions.

Many thanks Patrick. Tanja made the human forms for me - stand alone followers she shared for the story. They work well. I have the ending worked out (if not all the nitty gritty details) if I can ever find the motivation to do the last 3 chapters.

Best to let it happen when it happens. The writing is so much better when it flows and is not forced.

Now it gets more speed ... I hope Grim had not forgotten someone to warn and to prepare .. I'm looking foreward to see Losti again
I like, how he comes home when he meets Erik again. He is now the strong one, the safety harbour for Grim and it's good to know, that there are no doubts between them ... together they will be strong enought to master this challenge and I think, Grim will grow on this

Many thanks! I have been busy writing the last few weeks. Expect a slow down again as I recover from all the effort :) Glad you are enjoying the stories. Erik is Grim's balwark, his bedrock, his foundation :)

I have to wonder, which courier was "taken care of"? I know, I know. I'll find out soon enough *bites nails*.''

Excellent chapter and illustrations especially the shots of Erik lying down in the inn - the images are very warm and the textures are soft and make for a cozy scene.

Thanks Jumarbye :) Much appreciated and glad you like it. Funny you mention that courier. I forgot that people would not know where Hati and Skoll were talking as that would have been a big clue if they had. Ah well it will become clear when the next chapter comes out :)

    Very nice story.
This weekend I found the time to read all the previous chapters including the prolog. Well I need some time to read, because I have to take some help of an online dictionary.
It´s very interesting and I´m excitingly waiting how your story continues.

Thanks! Aye I can only imagine it can take some time to work through long stories when you have to decipher the words. Glad you enjoyed reading them and hope it was worth the effort!

As much as I understand the behavior of Hati and Skoll as wolves to get the dominance as much I dislike the human underhandedness they show. This isn't a fair wolf style.

Great images. Especially the one of Erik. A man to fall in love with.

Thanks! Aye that is the "corruption" of Oblivion and "human" intelligence on Hati and Skoll. If they had embraced being just wolves it would have never gone this way. But their time in Oblivion, combined with their semi-divine heritage and intelligence, has in some ways corrupted them ... well in the sense that humans are corrupted from more pure animal ways of dealing with things. That being said Hati, in particular, dislikes how humans have treated wolves and other creatures of the natural world and hence is not keen on them. Although as Skoll said Hati prefers more direct conflict - if it had been up to him I think he would have just attacked Grim right up front and let the strongest win. Skoll is a mistress of illusion and trickery though, taking after Fenrir in those areas, while Hati is the fighter.

Fenrir Wolf, in mythology, is the son of Loki and Loki is anything but honorable. He loves trickery, schemes, and underhanded things. That is why Fenrir is also known as the Trickster Wolf, among other titles. Of course I made Fenrir a Guardian of Nirn and he is more neutral in alignment (somewhere between TN and NG I would say) in my world and lore. Skoll is the other side of the equation for these two twins - and takes after that slippery, sly, and clever side that is part of Fenrir.

Grim has a little of that as well but he uses trickery and stealth and subterfuge mainly for good and to help people and Nirn.

Ok first things first, that shot of Erik omg that is the best shot of Erik ever really. The light , the shadows the everything. Now on to the female Skoll , she reminds me of an animal well both of them do, no feeling per say for the weaker humans, no care for what will happen to even their brother Grim.

To me they seem selfish and only out for themselves and I wonder if it is not just Grim that they would take from. If I was the old wolf I would wonder when they will set their sight on his realm next.

Great shots and amazing chapter Jon. :)

Thanks :-) Erik is look sooo good in my game lately its no wonder Grim wanted to return to Nirn to spend time with him lol.

Well in the defense of Hati and Skoll they are all wolf (well mix of divine wolf and mortal wolf) while Grim is half-wolf and half-human. They care only about their own pack. They see Grim as a rival, like another alpha, so that is why they are adversaries. Likewise with their Father, an old alpha. That being said they are not playing totally fair like true wolves will do (meaning an honest fight) and I suspect some of that is the 1500 years they spent in oblivion and the fact they have some divine heritage. Still they turned their back on the mortal world centuries ago while Grim embraced it and has always sought to protect it. Although he now feels he failed in that by not holding onto his role as Guardian and he is being plagued with guilt and doubt.
