I was very much engrossed in the idea of the last Dwemer and I felt that as an image, you were able present an excellent balance between the traditional "dwarf" metalworker and the technologically adept "dwemer"...and of course the reference to steam as a massively adaptable and powerful force throws the dwemer technology into our own recent past, which allows for a perfect identifiable and empathic link with our modern age.
In the second part, I loved the way in which too much introspection very nearly cost Larkspur dearly...it pays to keep one's eyes, and especially one's ears open in these places.
Superbly done, I will move on to part 3 when I get home from work. (I was reading this during a work-break. Naughty! )
Edit:
I've only just realised that I haven't read part 1 yet, so I will go there this evening...then to part 3!
Thank you for your comment! I am a huge fan of the Dwemer and I wish there was more to find out about them within Skyrim game itself. Those machines, those stylised dungeons, those super imaginative constructs... they prove to be a great food for imagination.
Thanks again!
The first is a little bit about mysteries, with a fantastic background-tale about the last dwemer and brilliant character creation of him makes me curious, to learn more about this special friendship...
The second part, written so light, is a wonderful continuation of the first part. I like, how Larkspur really takes "the boy" as a friend.
Great writing again, together with your brilliant pictures a real pleasure to me
Everytime, I start reading your storys, I wish, they would not end
Thank you very much for your lovely comment!
The story was great ... at a couple of points in the writing it reminded me of Terry Pratchett, one of my all time favorite authors, in how he would talk about things.
The use of the Dwemer as a guide in her readings is also very imaginative. I like how you add all these strange beings to her life without having to worry about it being real or not. Left to the reader to decide how much is in her head or not ... although to me I see them as all her imaginary friends. Which is both sad and sweet at the same time.
Always nice to learn more about Larkspur and Alerik - especially some of the insight into Larks personality and behavior and how smitten he had gotten with life with the Saga. A little triangle going on her even though one of the angles is missing.
I did enjoy the combat and how they helped each other ... or Alerik had a chance to help. Maybe at some point they can get off their Saga addiction enough to be less tormented without her around. Although it is always hard to lose a friend you care about a lot ... a missing shadow.
As for the rest of the comment: oh. My. Gods.
If I knew what I'd read here, I would leave your comment as the last one to reply to. Because now I'm literally crying like a complete weirdo.
Nobody here really knows how much I loved and admired sir Terry. I discovered his works at the very young age - but somehow it proved to be the best time to find him and his books. He and I were inseparable throughout my whole life - and yes, I say he, since I always felt he was talking to me through his books.
Aaaaand... here was a whole paragraph of the stuff that is way too personal to put online. So.. let's just say you really made me happy with this comment, probably more than you know. But hey, he made me happy, too, and didn't know that either. Maybe he knows it now.
Oh gosh, I need a short break now. Anyway, thank you.
Again, wonderful writing style and insights into your characters.
I am pretty generic here since I realize I need to dig in seriously in your past sets to comprehend few things...so I will shut it not to ridicule myself beyond a certain limit
Cheers!!
What matters is that you took time to watch and read - and that fills my heart with joy. Thank you for your comment!
One question to the screenshots: What mod adds this dwarven beard !??!
As for the beard - as far as I know it was custom-made for the dwarven companion you see in the set. You can find him here.
I also love the idea of the last Dwemer, even if he was only in her mind... if I understood right... sometimes I have some problems with the meanings in english, sorry
Yes, it was in her mind. Long story short, when she was young, she lived in a pretty secluded area and didn't have many friends. So she coped with that by imagining many different companions for herself, and the Dwemer was such an imaginary friend.
Thank you for your comment!
Even more Dwemer shots around! I love it!
This time also accompanied by your wonderful writing. You have such a lovely narrative style so it's difficult not wanting for more or a continuation at once!
I very much like the rich darkness in this set!
Thank you for your comment, I'm glad you enjoyed the set!
The Story in general and the Appearance of your Characters in this Body of Work is just outstanding. This Picture is my Favorite, because I like it particularly. But other Images are as breathtaking.
