Noteworthy is also the reply to Jonathan, and I certainly agree with your interpretation. I build my interpretation of the DB, from contrast with the Morag Tong, from which probably originated as a rebellious rib. Mephala I interpret as daedra of the pervasive statal power, and that its killers are used "legally". Mephala is opposed by NM, a specter, which exists thanks to the souls who prey and that deliver to the Void. NM sect declines towards anarchism that have its own reasons, self-destructive and generally attracts murderers mentally unstable. In this sense, your character Saga, is always at the edge of a precipice.
Well done!
This is a masterpiece of writing together with wonderful pictures and a perfect character
Very well done, I enjoyed it so much....Thank you for this
A bit of a surprise ending there at the end though. Two twisted minds in a way but Saga seems slightly befuddled in this story, her mind wrapped in the loving embrace of the NM and her words. Hopefully this is not the end of the poor girl - twisted as she is I still like her to some degree.
Your shots are great. For me they should accent the words as to me the written word is the most important. Your images go hand in hand with your words without detracting from them.
I've always thought about the NM as more of the twisted personification of a specific mindset (religious fanatism if you will) rather than the full-fledged bride of the deity or a human being turned into a demi-goddess. She is the echo of a one strong belief, a voice that doesn't speak of anything else. That makes her quite a good manipulator since she doesn't have any agenda other than spreading the message she believed in while being a human. And since she was quite a corrupt, cruel human (even though I'm pretty sure she didn't consider herself one)... there you have it. I'd like to imagine that the whole DB philosophy came from her understanding of Sithis: a whole doctrine built upon a singular, disembodied, mindless voice.
And yep, Saga definitely loses a grasp on reality a bit. It's a high time to make Wabbajack her weapon of choice I wouldn't call her twisted, though. More like confused: someone who really needs to believe in something and chooses wrong.
Thanks again!
I guess I've read too many comic books not to consider the images a part of the story (that's why I'm always concerned with the quite low quality of my shots - they just don't tell the story as I want them to! ). I think the Thorgal series has been the biggest influence of mine on that field: each panel drawn by RosiĆski carries a significant part of the story itself.
Well, I don't want to be that person who spoils her own story, but I think it's pretty obvious: you got that right, it is NM who hums the words into Saga's ears. Through images, I wanted to juxtapose her words (which, I hope, were at least a little bit alluring, that's what I was aiming at) with the harsh reality: there is no place for purity when someone, well, attempts to literally butcher you.
Thanks again!
