The birth of the demon introduced in the last chapter:
a sun losing her moon
a heart losing its soul
in Alduins fire a demon was born"
It actually represent what was left of Laelia after the trauma of Helgen, aimlessly fighting the imperials in her wish to die and to be reunited with her beloved:
cause she lost anything she ever desired
for the flower remaining no reason for life
and the demon is only living for the fight"
Now a key moment is when Laelia and Thrakor encountered Mirmulnir in the last chapter (which I now realise didn't point out very good), more specifically the greybeards calling for the dragonborn:
old voices in the air are calling her
but the demon is still crying for blood
and the red lily isn't listening to them"
Which are the trigger for Thrakor to try stop Laelia following her wish for death and revenge:
he wants stop the demon once and for all
so he's trying to reach out for the flower"
Thrakors reasons aren't completly selfless though. He kinda wants to to become one of the greatest warriors to ever have walked on nirn, and to be remembered as such, which was why he originally became Laelias mentor in the 1st Chapter:
a son of the marshes steps forward to vouch for her
a warrior searching for honor, called the black lizard
feeling that she will guide him to honor"
So he's now seeing a hint of the fate and eventually try's to stop her following her wish for death and revenge. He confronts her and trys to talk some sense into her, but she doesn't listen and gets angry, also knowing that other than all the average soldiers he has the abiltys to defeat her she starts to fight him:
a demon fighting her own shadow
not to end his life but rather her own
to reunite the flower with her desired"
He then decides to lay down his weapons, and give his life into her hands, because he believes that there is still a desire to live in her:
cause he's still believing in the flower
awakening whom was lost inside the demon"
Which makes her realise that she couldn't stand to live with the guilt to have killed Thrakor who has become a very close friend to her (it's a nightmare for her to imagine), and also while thinking that sorrow over her loss will never leave, she begins to aknowledge that a close friend can ease her pain and maybe there is still some reason for her to be alive:
to save one who can relieve her endless pain
she banishes the demon to unreachable realms"
Also appreciate the insight on the Black Lizard Thrakor. I knew he was a friend and he was trying to help her get out of herself, to instead find another reason to live besides revenge and killing. I had missed that part about his own desires to be one of the the greatest warriors. Also the clarification that they fought each other in that she was hoping he would kill her ... and so he laid down his weapons to try and get her to stop ... and see that it would be even worse if she did kill him ... forcing her to realize she did care about him and hence still had some good emotions left.
I love that because, it's not complicate for me or just people to read and understand. Just great, beautilly and greatly written and captured Superb, Patrick !
