Oh how tragic. She didn't even know who it was that she killed. Someone commented that this would be a three tissue work...better give me the whole box!
    Amazing work hon.

Yes I thank it is. It Just shows how amazing of a game skyrim really is. The game really never got old for me but if I was playing it on the console it would have been taken back in a heartbeat. Believe me I know, so don't play it on the consoles what ever you do. lol

Haha, no I don't do consoles. They're too limiting! Hence why Dragon Age Inquisition only suckered me in for about a month; it's basically a console game made for PC... which is a shame because the first few in the franchise were great... well number one was

I Played Dragon age origins and dragon age 2 and I agree that origins was the best. Was very hyped up for the new dragon age, so I put in some weeks on my human character and done everything you could possibly do on that game. Don't Get me wrong, there were a lot of great, sad and unexpected moments in the game. But there was always something bringing me back to Skyrim.

The love story between the human noble and Cassandra is just adorable hehe.

What a terrible sacrifice and what a scene of desperation, death and carnage Erandas stood witness to. The horror of watching, seeing it, and the sounds of the dying. These things you could never rid yourself of- no matter how many years you lived. Only made worse because somewhere among those fighting and falling is a loved one. A terrifying thought indeed! Well done Jess- very well done! To end this on a happier note, I'll be re-reading The Old Soul Turns. Thank you for sharing your gift with us dear Jess! <3

My deepest pleasure dear! Oh yes, poor Erandas, I feel so sorry for what he must've gone through in the years that followed. Knowing he had to just stand there while Allenell went off to her death like that. Poor guy. I'll have to make an effort to write some more happier pieces just for you!

And once again, you have trumped yourself with the tragedy witnessed by Erandas in this chapter. Nicely done Jess.

Another very sad and even devastating installment, masterfully written telling about the end of Finayla's parents (and I consider Allene's transformation like the end of her life). Awesome shots of werewolves too, very atmospheric.
Too bad that Allenel and her people were forced to go on such measure as practically killing themselves but for them there was no other choice. Somehow I knew that for Stardir this would end as gruesome as possible and here it is... his own wife did not recognize him and devoured him alive. i feel bad for Erandas who was watching all these events unfolding and somehow I doubt that he one day would tell his granddaughter how her mother had devoured her father... poor kid might be scared for all her life after such story...
I do hope that despite the tragedy with her parents Erandas might provide a good life for his granddaughter, so she can have a decent childhood...
I would be looking forward for continuation and thank you for sharing your awesome work!

You wouldn't have expected anything else from me would you? Yes it was pretty horrific, and I find it interesting to see just what lengths people will go to (or what they'll sacrifice) for the greater good. Sociological issues like this have always fascinated me.

But in the end it was really Erandas that suffered the most I think. Having to stand there and watch his daughter "die" (because you're right, her transformation is as good as a death because apparently after the Hunt any survivors will eventually devour one another) must have been terrible. How does one recover from something like that?

Anyway, thanks for following my dear and I appreciate your feedback as always!

I did called that i was gonna be crying like baby reading this..sort of did ! You really have a sense for the tragic dear ! Wonderful chapter even if utterly gut wrenching. Wonderful shots to go along the story. I cannot help myself but to feel bad for Allenel father who stood there and watched the whole scene..as his clanfolks turned into beasts...and even worst..when Allenel..or the beast she became..killed Strandrir and devoured him...I doubt that Finayla grandfather will ever tell her such a thing...

    Amazing work dear !

Thanks Lia and yes, I'm sorry, I'm a bit warped in my stories! It's not a good day unless I've tormented a character in a story! And unwittingly the one I tormented most seems to have been erandas; after all, he's the one standing behind watching the carnage, and Fin is too young to know what's going on. Poor fella. Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed this tale even if it was sad!!

Seems how Erandas watched the sights of that sorrowful day truly haunts him, pondering why he even remained atop the hill to see what unfolded below, perhaps part of him wanted to see those last moments so that the fate of his Allenel and her love would not be a mystery to him. You description of that echo of the wild hunt Erandas felt was very vivid, those smells of the wilds among the trees, that hunger awakened, that pain shared with his shifting clan, that horror in the sight of shifting flesh and twisted bone. Such scars that day left in his mind as he watched the path of Stardrir towards his wild kin, falling by the claw of his beloved, a cruel twist of fate for two with such love for each other. You certainly know how to weave those tragic twists in your tales, Jess, seems you would get along with Varric in DAI with his tales that often end tragically

Yes indeed it must've been a difficult thing to watch; I liken it to a horrific car wreck, you can't look away but hTe to have to watch. Plus I think Erandas felt he owed it to Allenell to stand sentinel and watch. I can't help but add the tragedy of fate in my tales; it's such a powerful concept. Plus it gives me the ability to do my melodrama

One day I'll have a go at something nice and sweet!

Oh what a wonderful comparison; I'd LOVE to hang with Varric and yes, he is one of my all time favourite companions!
