Skyrim

I promised to write something, so here it is. :)

What's been finished:

  • Custom armour mesh, inspired by the Mercenary Armour from Immersive Armours
  • Custom casual clothing mesh
  • Knowledge dialogue written, sporadically adding more as we come to it
  • Updating her look/appearance to provide a more consistent image, better reflect her age and experiences in the wild

What's in progress:

  • Battle AI: You will be able to coordinate how you want to proceed with enemy encounters in advance, or to have Arissa leave it to her best judgment
  • Tweaking some issues with her follow distance
  • Mesh texturing. I've been working on hand painting the textures and baking the normal maps
  • Dialogue integration of currently recorded lines
  • Finishing up recording of the rest of the lines. I was sick for a few weeks with a cold that eventually became a shitty chest infection. As of 9/29 I'm alright :)
  • Conversational pieces, to slowly work in to a future update for her questline

Preview and Why I decided to give her a set texture:

There were a lot of complaints about her looks. Personally, it was getting to be kind of frustrating, and I was almost tempted to turn her in to a cute barbie. However, after another Nexus user showing me the mature skin texture package, I thought... this is perfect! I modified the texture: added subtle details to her face that give an appearance of someone that has obviously been in to a few scraps. If you look at her arm, her chest, and even at certain angles you can see various scars in various stages of their lives.

When the update is released, take a good close look at her, and have a chat with her. :) As you get to know each other, she may open up and talk about the time she took a shield bashing to the face. Or that other time she got caught up by a few Draugr that weren't too pleased with her shenanigans.

The first couple screenshots also show her new armour mesh, inspired by the Mercenary Armour. This is a custom mesh using vanilla assets, however the new texture and normals are currently in progress.
