Skyrim

Toggle HUD is my first (published) mod on the Nexus. It gives a quick and easy way to toggle all the menus with the tap of a single key, which is useful for those of us who are constantly taking screenshots and want to avoid reopening the Settings or the MCM of a HUD mod to turn off the HUD every few seconds.

MOTIVATION:
I've been working on numerous projects for a while, but while writing a review for my site Skyrim MW I was constantly taking screenshots. I play with iHUD most of the time, though I also use Minimal HUD for Skyrim when playing. Still, I don't turn off all aspects of the HUD. If you are one of the people that does, then it's likely you have no need for this mod (as of the current version, that is - I'll be adding more features soon).

So when I had to take a screenshot every few seconds, it quickly became bothersome to open up the Settings to change the HUD Opacity. I quickly changed to opening the console and typing in tm, but even that was a little slow. Not enough to hinder me enourmously, but enough to make me wonder if there was a better way.

EXECUTION:
So I decided to fix it myself. I didn't know of any other mods that toggled the entire HUD on and off with the touch of a single hotkey, and so I began to read up on binding a hotkey and making an MCM. (If you do know of one, then tell me - and how to toggle the HUD. I've had numerous people tell me iHUD does the exact same thing, but haven't told me how to toggle the HUD with iHUD.) With some invaluable help from IsharaMeradin on the Nexus Forums, and lots of time spent (mostly by her) fixing my mistakes, the mod began to take shape. It was a good project for me, because it also helped me learn how to make an MCM. While I'm fairly capable in scripting and quest design, I'd never properly learned how to script a configuration menu myself. So once I finally finished the mod, I decided to post it on the Nexus in case anybody else was interested in my work.

CONCLUSION:
Now that it's uploaded, I'm fairly happy with the mod. There are more updates to come, with features like a quick hotkey for zooming, as well as some more script efficiency. If you've got any suggestions for a function to add that would make screenshot-taking or trailer-making easier, post it on this forum thread and I'll see if it's possible.
