Stop patterns are a method of working out where a mod should be installed based on it's content's file paths. It basically allows a greater amount of mods to be installed correctly, even when some common packaging mistakes happen like nested folders, or containing/not containing a Data folder etc.
Literally just opened vortex and this popped up as it tried to update the extension to 0.4.4
Tried switching to beta vortex, same error. Reverted back to stable, same error.
(and btw I realise you are a community manager, but that stack with no other context is plenty for a programmer to realise they added a dependency on a module that isn't shipped with vortex or the extension).
Having the same error: - C:\<junction>/AppData/Roaming\Vortex\plugins\Vortex Extension Update - Starfield Vortex Extension v0.4.4\index.js - C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\vortex-run\lib\index.js - C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\renderer.js - C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\index.html at Module._resolveFilename (node:internal/modules/cjs/loader:1082:15) at o._resolveFilename (node:electron/js2c/renderer_init:2:3879) at Module._load (node:internal/modules/cjs/loader:927:27) at f._load (node:electron/js2c/asar_bundle:2:13377) at o._load (node:electron/js2c/renderer_init:2:3109) at Function._load (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\renderer.js:9841:126) at Module.require (node:internal/modules/cjs/loader:1148:19) at Module.require (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\renderer.js:9402:127) at require (node:internal/modules/cjs/helpers:110:18) at redux-act (C:\<junction>/AppData/Roaming\Vortex\plugins\Vortex Extension Update - Starfield Vortex Extension v0.4.4\index.js:1309:18) at __webpack_require__ (C:\<junction>/AppData/Roaming\Vortex\plugins\Vortex Extension Update - Starfield Vortex Extension v0.4.4\index.js:1360:42) at ./src/actions/settings.ts (C:\<junction>/AppData/Roaming\Vortex\plugins\Vortex Extension Update - Starfield Vortex Extension v0.4.4\index.js:409:21) at __webpack_require__ (C:\<junction>/AppData/Roaming\Vortex\plugins\Vortex Extension Update - Starfield Vortex Extension v0.4.4\index.js:1360:42) at ./src/setup.ts (C:\<junction>/AppData/Roaming\Vortex\plugins\Vortex Extension Update - Starfield Vortex Extension v0.4.4\index.js:829:20) at __webpack_require__ (C:\<junction>/AppData/Roaming\Vortex\plugins\Vortex Extension Update - Starfield Vortex Extension v0.4.4\index.js:1360:42) at ./src/index.ts (C:\<junction>/AppData/Roaming\Vortex\plugins\Vortex Extension Update - Starfield Vortex Extension v0.4.4\index.js:498:17) (I've obfuscated part of the path to <junction>, as it's just a regular path (without spaces) that is the target directory of a junction)
Looks like the issue is happening because we're using Windows junctions, as I do have one for AppData/Roaming (making the assumption @DarkStarWorld does too based on the name of the directory).
Based on this, looks like the issue is either with (1) vortex, (2) the extension API or (3) the extension itself. Since I have seen weird errors when installing extensions that wasn't this one, I'm betting on #1 and/or #2.
Could you confirm what kind of issue it is? Depending on it, I'm down to submitting a bug report. Using Junctions is very handy for backup purposes, so I would rather be able to keep them.
If there's a way to work around it in the extension, that would be amazing however. Happy to help if that means this can be fixed quicker!
I don't know if this is a Vortex issue or a Starfield Extension issue, but downloaded Starfield mods are having their names cut off if too long. It appears to be cutting them off at 51 characters which is less than the limit for Nexus Mods. Checking my Skyrim - SE, I have one that is, for example 83 characters long, but it could still be an issue with Vortex or a change in the APIs related to downloading files, but it seems likely that the issue is with the extension. I believe the name is tied to the file.
