I wouldn't worry about it, it's basically a set of libraries published by Microsoft that you need to run this program, like any other .net app. It's not a program that runs in the background and consumes resources when you don't need it or anything sketchy like that.
I cant even find the folder that has this gameprofile.xml i looked in every possible folder. I dont understand why this is so frustrating. Where do i even extract the tfc too. Im very confused
Any mods you download will usually have GameProfile.xml in the root folder. Failing that, it will be the folder with a 'Game' folder inside it. That will be the "Mod Folder" you select within TFC Installer.
If you're referring to the tool itself, TFC Installer can be extracted anywhere, but it's probably best to make a directory like C:\Modding Programs\TFC Installer and extract it there so you can access it quickly.
Every time I try to install two particular mods in BioShock Infinite I get the following Error Message: 1/49 package(s) from 'Bioshock Infinite' could not be updated.
Package: XGame\CookedPCConsole_FR\Master_P.xxx Error: Unable to read beyond the edge of the stream. Each mod is by a different author, but the error message is the same. I don't know what this means or how I might fix it. I've tried everything, read all sorts of comments on this page in search of a solution, but cannot find one.
If memory serves, Bioshock Infinite has different packages for each storefront (Epic, GOG, Steam). Mod authors will need to make a version of the mod for each.
TexturePack only mods, or game patches that do not use preloaded packages like XGame or Master_P should work with all versions.
Unless you're getting errors from TFC installer, i would recommend asking further instructions from the mod author first as this tools supports hundreds of games and each game/mod has its quirks. So they'll probably have a better idea of what can go wrong...
my TFC dosnt have "Texture pack/ Game Patch". It is asking where I keep my Mods. I am trying to gett it up go to where my MOD's are downloded for Vortex, But it keep saying therew is nothing there.
These screenshots and tutorials are from an earlier version. It's called "Mod folder" now. There's no good reason why this shouldn't work. If you have unzipped both the mod and tfc installer, first thing is to set "Game folder". If it doesn't complain about anything then it should be the right folder. Second step is to set "Mod folder". If you open the unzipped mod folder, where GameProfile.xml is located, it shouldn't complain. It's possible you need to open a subfolder of the unzipped mod folder. You can see which folder contains Gameprofile.xml in windows explorer.
If you're 100% you're opening the correct folder and it still complains about mod not found... either try to redownload the mod and/or start TFC installer as admin.
I found out how to get it to work. After unzipping, I have to go into that specific Mod folder that holds the files and copy the 'game' folder and anything else that's folder and place it into the Mod folder that I made for the game. I can't just unzip and drag the one folder over. I have to take EVERYTHING out of the folder to get it to work. Very strange. Def not like Subnautica mods, lol
I'm not sure what you mean but there shouldn't be any drag and drop involved. Just select game folder, select mod folder and installer, nothing to copy or drag drop. And yeah different games use different tools and mods are not installed the same way.

A lot of modders will give instructions to use "uninstall all" to uninstall their mod. Don't. Do this instead:
