How does the movie files get picked? From smallest to biggest? Because iam "stuck" for like 3 hours at 80%. I'm thinking about switching from 120fps to 60fps. Thanks in advance
No, selecting a movie file will select the whole folder. Since games tend to use strange file formats, the file selection is basically just a filter to make sure you're selecting the right place.
does the program get stuck in a loop when i start it or is it just going to take an ungodly amount of time to make 60fps cutscenes for area 51? been at 0.0% for like half hour-ish. thanks!
Depending on your CPU, half an hour is well within reasonable conversion time for motion interpolation. Progress percentage only updates when a cutscene is complete--it can't be calculated for real-time progress, since each profile is different.
Vanquish was actually the game that spawned this tool becoming general-purpose rather than specific to Nier: Automata! (Hence the name: Vanqiush -> Vidsquish.)
Unfortunately, while I was able to successfully pick apart the FMV data, the game itself doesn't respect changes to the cutscenes without mods... which don't exist, to my knowledge. So I ended up removing the Vanquish profile from the main distribution. You can still find it in the Vidsquish Steam community forums, but it's not really useful without further development.
Hello and thanks for uploading this amazing tool on Nexus! I am making this comment because I am very confused about NieR: Automata's latest patch, which seemingly introduces 60 FPS cutscenes into the game (link: https://www.tweaktown.com/news/80543/nier-automatas-new-steam-patch-adds-60fps-cutscenes-fidelityfx-cas/index.html)
If this is indeed correct, does it mean that this tool isn't necessary to use anymore, for that specific purpose, in Automata? Thanks in advance!

30fps also is fine by me for movie parts
