Currently this extension is effectively broken, as ESL files are not supported as plugins. No matter how I add ESL files, they are not recognized within the Plugins tab, and require manual enable/disable via the Enderal Launcher (or adjusting plugins.txt). You can try automatic downloading via nexus, manual install, or even manual install of each individual ESL. Regardless, they do not appear as a plugin.
I even tried enabling "enable externally managed plugins automatically", and pasting the plugins manually into the data folder, but ESL plugins still will not appear in the plugins menu.
If I manage Enderal as though it were Skyrim SE, ESL files are recognized normally, for reference.
I sent a feedback request via Vortex, thanks for getting back to me! I poked around in the extensions JS file, and through other gamebryo games with ESL support (e.g. F4), and couldn't find a way to enable gamebryo plugin management with ESL files. Oh well, it still works, and it's not difficult to close vortex and boot up the enderal launcher to enable the ESL files.
Yeah Tannin chose to keep all the Gamebyro settings inside the core app. Unfortunately this means that we need to wait for a main app update for this to be addressed. Thanks for sending the feedback in
After briefly switching back to my Skyrim SE profile and then back Enderal SE, I can now no longer see me save games. Instead I see Skyrim SE saves. The save game tab on vortex is right, and the button in the enderal launcher is right, but when I launch enderal and try to load a game I see Skyrim SE saves. I've got the steam version thanks to a key from the SureAI discord so I tried, so I tried running it from steam without vortex but even that is now showing Skyrim saves.
Update: Its actually the whole save game directory with the ini files and all thats wrong. Ie it now wants to use "My Games\Skyrim Special Edition" instead of "My Games\Enderal Special Edition"
I've just moved my endral files to there for now, but I'd really like to be able to fix it.
Can you check your Enderal game path in Vortex (click the little + in the corner of the tile in the games tab)? It might be pointing to the Skyrim folder, not the Enderal one.
The only way what you described would happen (as far as I know) would be if that was the case, or if you have a really weird install path for your Steam copy of Enderal.
fullpath: C:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Enderal Special Edition
and again, thats working fine, its the save folder. Both Vortex and and the Enderal launcher both choose the correct folder, but when I actually go into the game it tries to load from the skyrim save folder.
Update: deleting the enderal.ini file in "My Games\Enderal Special Edition" fixed the issue. Comparing the new enderal.ini and the old one shows that the line SLocalSavePath=..\Enderal Special Edition\Saves\ some how got changed to SLocalSavePath=Saves\ when I swapped games in Vortex
Launching the game through Vortex just launches Skyrim SE, even though they are separate. Seeing the other comments, I can only assume it's broken at this time, and unable to be modded? The pathways are all correct.
The only thing said when launching it myself is "Your configuration files have been corrupted or altered externally, the game could fail to run properly. Would you like to reset them?"
Are you using the Steam or Nexus Mods version of the game?
?With this many people having an issue, it is likely something with the mod.
Do you have any evidence to support that lots of users are having a problem? Have these people reported the issue anywhere useful? Your report is the first I'm hearing of it through this mod page. The only bug I know of is the savegames problem.
Do you mean when switching games? I now keep a copy of my enderal ini files and copy them over the one in the mygames\enderal special edition folder every time I switch games nabk to enderal SE in vortex. According to the github the problem has been fixed, but not published yet.
Got an error when switching games from Enderal Special Edition to any other game.

Does this work with the steam release of Enderal SE?
I might be doing something wrong but when i try to activate Enderal SE in vortex i get "game managed by different game extention", and by the look of things in the plugins tab it still shows the Skyrim SE file directory and not the Enderal SE one

It's not the install path, but the save game path thats messed up.
If it includes the word "Skyrim" in the path that would be why it's choosing the wrong folder
and again, thats working fine, its the save folder.

Comparing the new enderal.ini and the old one shows that the line
SLocalSavePath=..\Enderal Special Edition\Saves\
some how got changed to
SLocalSavePath=Saves\
when I swapped games in Vortex
Saves\
. Vortex does parse your INIs on switching profile.The save path in my ini file also changed back to skyrim default when I updated the Enderal Outposts mod.
The only thing said when launching it myself is "Your configuration files have been corrupted or altered externally, the game could fail to run properly. Would you like to reset them?"
SLocalSavePath=..\Enderal Special Edition\Saves\
thats what my problem was
As for the game path, you can manually point it to your Enderal folder in the games tab.

Edit: i see the problem is already known

Tested and no it's still happening.
Edit: Unmanaged Enderal SE in Vortex and restarted, then activated, and still happening.

You can either point Vortex to your Skyrim SE install folder or wait until Enderal SE has its own Steam release and use it there.
