Kinda off tangent and i can't find anyone to ask but is it possible to do character mods in this game? Like replacing James model and voice with Rebecca https://www.deviantart.com/deexie/art/Rebecca-Leather-Outfit-257888548. I wonder how such a popular game has no modding capabilities
Hi! I didn't make any changes to the model itself, I just used the Silent Hill 2 Texture Explorer from https://www.silenthillmemories.net/sh2/modding_en.htm to extract and replace the textures from James' character folder. It looks like that site has a model extractor as well, I haven't tried it but you may be able to use that if you want to make changes to the character geometry. Obviously these changes won't apply to the prerendered cutscenes, but for the in game cutscenes I didn't do anything specific, they just use the same character model as normal gameplay. Good luck!
