Everything works as intended right up until the point I put the headset on. Then I get an immediate crash. UEVR thinks I have DLSS enabled. It's not. Anyone got any ideas? 5070Ti using a PSVR2.

I genuinely hope you do not take offense to me posting this.

It is actually possible to get this running smoothly in Native Stereo with no ghosting and a first person toggle with working motion controls.

Simply go to the UEVR profiles site and dl BOTH of the profiles available. You'll want to install the VRified one in your UnrealVRMod folder. Extract the Angelus profile and take ONLY the user_script.txt file and place it in SHProto-Win64-Shipping with the other profile.

    Also use  -DX11.

I am using a Quest 3. If you do as well I would suggest using quest link and setting the headset to 90fps and 1.0 on the resolution scale.
It runs smoothly at a constant 45fps which is strangely quite fluid in this title.
The reason I don't do 60fps is because of the inherent color loss. Looks awful imho

I am running @1080p with all in game settings maxed (no raytracing option in dx11). .

Due to the nature of UE5 it does stutter a bit but it is bearable.

Cut scene toggling is the way to go.

After doing this the game in many ways feels like a native VR title.

All this on a peasant 10850k and a paltry 3080 ti.

You might find yourself caught up staring at the intricate details of the world you have tumbled into.
Try not to do too much sight seeing as there are monsters lurking in that fog.

Thank you so much bud! Finally got it to work smoothly on my pc thanks to your instructions! May I ask what scale you use for steam VR? As you suggested I set link graphics to x1 but there is an additional layer by steamVR which I set to 100% and runs smoothly but looks lets say a tiny bit blurry for my taste. Running it on 4080 laptop.

Np. I don't use SteamVR as there is too much overhead. Instead I use OpenXR which is much closer to bare metal. I would suggest you do the same.

Adding these 3 command lines to the bottom of that user_script I mentioned earlier will make the game look sharper the darks look darker and the fog denser with a black undertone that is slightly unnerving while elleviating some stress from your gpu. Also note that user_script is prioritized over engine.ini and csvar options in UEVR.

      r.Color.Min -0.0019
      r.Tonemapper.Sharpen 3.6
      r.ViewDistanceScale .75

These are the settings that work for me but feel free to adjust accordingly. Do leave r.ViewDistanceScale alone as to avoid any ingame stability. Everything vibes @75. When you go below strange sh!t happens.

This game does not allow for realtime adjustment to tonemapper.sharpen in the UEVR gui like most do. One workaround is to adjust then reload a save. If you opt to do that then do not use the above r.Tonemapper.Sharpen  command. In most other games 3.6 would be way to sharp. Not the case here.

Big thanks to Nynoen for posting this profile.

Keep working on it and you might want to watch VRified's recently uploaded tut for 6 DOF and melee which works for guns as well.

One last thing. You can inject the profile as soon as you launch the game giving it a chance to fully load. It will open   @ the menu screen.

Nevermind actually, figured it out by making quest link a default openXR app and now it goes, thanks again

I've got a lot of reprojection when I turn the camera. Any way to fix it? Using PSVR2 on PC.

I downloaded the latest "stable" version of UEVR from the GitHub link, followed the instructions for this mod, and the game crashes every time I try injecting the profile. Using Vive Pro 2 via SteamVR on Windows 11. Would appreciate any help troubleshooting this, since it sounds very fun.

wait, that's awesome, but is it possible to use this mod to enable just stereoscopic 3d for my old 3d monitor? I mean not including first person view, and other VR features. just a Top/Bottom picture?

If you can get UEVR to run without a VR headset, I'm willing to bet it does work. Have you used UEVR before? This might be a question for the creator of UEVR, PrayDog.

I had to change the 3D from Native Stereo to Synchronized Sequential for the 3D to work properly. Since I don't own a 3D monitor, no way to fully 100% help here, sorry. However, if it does work, that would be a very interesting bit of information to know.

You can also inject the UEVR into Silent Hill 2 so it creates your own "profile" on your PC without downloading this one. Then go into the program while its running and tweak your settings, change your video so it possibly matched your monitor, and a whole lot more. YouTube has quite a few tutorials on how to work UEVR.
