A little offtopic but do you happen to know what commands i could add to the engine.ini to make James hair a little less pixelated and better quality? Thought i'd ask since you seem to be quite knowledgable. Much love.
Full path to the folder: C:\Users\(your user name)\AppData\Local\SilentHill2\Saved\Config\Windows AppData is a hidden folder, you need to enable showing hidden folders or use %AppData%\..\Local\SilentHill2\Saved\Config\Windows
It seems to run smoother but the thing is the patches of the road disappears like in and I can see the dirt under the concrete... is there a way to fix this? example <- (a pic of what im talking about)
I have added a version that fixes this, with all optimizations minus view distance. Also added a middle ground version, with some view distance optimization. If you've had this problem in the beginning only, i suggest not changing your version.
Fantastic work, it didn't exactly boost fps which is fine, what I adore about this mod is how effective it is at eliminating stutters. Im in the hospital and one of the staircases are poorly optimized, this mod is a fantastic benchmark to showcase how good it is at squashing stutters. I used this mod in unison with Silent Hill SPF and SH2 Essentials, the overall boost in fps is roughly 5-9 fps consistently but the stability is far better. I hope someone releases a mod in the future that overhauls the performance and optimization, there is a mod called Silent Optimizer and it boosted my fps by 20+ frames!!!! it was f*#@ing NUTS but it also made the stutters extremely bad, its a shame because that mod boosted fps like nothing ive ever seen before..
Hey I'm a modder as well. I see your view distance is set to 0.28. From my testing to fix textures not loading in areas with less fog, you need a value of at least 0.65. So maybe make another preset with that.
Good job! for my mod I'm using 0.75 just to be safe. Good luck
Thank you for trying out, I made what you suggest and a version without view distance. I'm still playing the game so I haven't seen the rest of the areas yet. :)
