CHANGE LOG 1.0.1 - added version with dirt left, but without dark spot in the center. 1.0.2 - added optional Brighter Flashlight. nothing ridiculous, will add a few meters of safety. will probably make some very close paper/glass surfaces too bright.
Whilst I actually agree with you that increasing the flashlight distance will make the game less scary and lower the atmosphere, I don't really see the issue in a mod that allows people to play the game they want, if it's feasibly possible.
They could decide to play the game with gamma boosted to 2.9, easy difficulty, and make all enemies die in 1 shot. It will obviously destroy all scares in the game but if that's how they want to play, so be it.
@xKamikashi - Why do you people love thinking you're entitled to dictate how other people play/enjoy their single player games? If you don't want to use such a mod, then don't. The whole "I don't like it so no one else should either" is kindergarten mentality. Grow up and get over yourself.
@Pavelk - Thank you for the additional brightness. I will probably end up using it on my 2nd+ run as the torchlight was a pain point in certain areas.
Thank you for the brighter flashlight! Any chance for having like 2-3 different brightness/distance levels to choose? I think something between the vanilla and your current version would be perfect. Also, is there a possibility to tweak the color temperature of the flashlight? I think the cold white light kinda ruins the atmosphere a bit and a bit more neutral or warmer/yellowish tone could probably work better for a horror game.
xKamikashi: You do realize you're in a modding site right? By your logic, practically every single mod that changes the parameters of the game in any way is "ruining" the experience.
