A customizable minimap for Silent Hill 2.

How to Install
  • This mod requires UE4SS.  Download UE4SS_{version number}.zip from the latest non-experimental version.  (As of Feb 25, 2025, this is version 3.0.1 and the UE4SS_v3.0.1.zip).
  • Extract the content of the zip file to {game directory}/SILENT HILL 2/SHProto/Binaries/Win64
  • Open {game directory}/SILENT HILL 2/SHProto/Binaries/Win64/UE4SS-settings.ini
  • Change GraphicsAPI from opengl to dx11
  • Set MinorVersion to 1
  • Set MajorVersion to 5
  • In {game directory}/SILENT HILL 2/SHProto/Content/Paks/, create the folder LogicMods
  • Extract the content of the mods in {game directory}/SILENT HILL 2/SHProto/Content/Paks/LogicMods/
  • Launch the game and open your map to add the minimap to the HUD.

How to Use
  • Once installed, the mod should be added to your HUD as soon as you open your map.
  • In game, press "N" to toggle the minimap on and off.
  • Click the cog to customize your minimap's appearance.
Caveats
  • Minimap will render your last opened map.  This means you must find the map and open it when entering new areas.
  • Minimap will only update James's notes each time you open the map.  This is a limitation due to how the main map is generated.  However, the player marker will update every frame.  A ghost player location marker is left behind every time you open the map, but this marker can easily be distinguished from the marker for the player's realtime location.
  • Brookhaven Otherworld fails to render properly.  Minimap returns to its normal behavior once you reach Rosewater Park.
