the problem with the "no fog" is the fog actually cover the field that haven't been fully render to screen, so when you erase the fog, you gonna see nothingness until you walk near enough to the object, especially in town
Yes you are right, for town I tried to increase render distance it kinda seem nice but my GPU can't handle it , and the reason why I made this mod is I'm too scared of this game 😭 without fog it made it a bit better, now I'm in apartment yeah no fog it comes handy
Great thanks for you mod. Better comfort feeling without fog. Well sometimes sudden objects appeared behind fog area but games play more predictable.. for me better to see creatures in far range than just noisy in radio...
Well . Using a "no fog" mod in a Silent Hill game can indicate a range of motivations or curiosities. Fog in Silent Hill games is a major part of the atmosphere, creating tension and horror. Here are some potential thought processes behind removing it:1. Curiosity and Exploration: They might want to see the full map or examine details that are hidden by fog, revealing aspects of the game world and design that would otherwise remain unseen.2. Technical or Artistic Appreciation: Some people are curious about game design elements and want to appreciate textures, lighting, and architecture that are obscured by fog. Removing it lets them see the game's visuals without intentional obstructions.3. Challenge or Altered Experience: Without the fog, gameplay changes since enemies and obstacles are more visible, impacting the sense of fear or discovery.4. Optimization: Fog can be taxing on older hardware. Removing it might be an attempt to improve performance or eliminate visual effects that don't run smoothly on their system. In short, using a no-fog mod often stems from curiosity, a desire to explore the game's art in a new way, or for performance reasons. Yes it can improve performance in older GPUs or GPUs with less vram
did you really need AI to reply to this? this is most definitely an AI bullet list that you took after copying and pasting the person's original comment you could just say you're scared of the game's unknown atmosphere, or simply curious on what details the fog ends up hiding
yes i dont know english..! so its better if i use ai to correct spelling mistakes and all and for better understanding and the thing is i didnt even understand the question he asked so
I really like how people taken a back by no fog mod accusing of removing atmosphere and stuff while completely okay with nude mods. Not directed specifically at you but reasons to not have fog? Yeah, exploration, see hidden details, etc, can be used as a trial tool for screenshots. Reasons for nude mods? Terminally horny. If you ask me, I think nude mods ruin game a lot more than absence of fog.
but isn't like in the original game? i mean, the fog being a resource to not overload the memory and improving the performance? i don't know prety much of this things, and i want to learn about it.
this is great. but if i want to add the fog again i just delete the engine.ini right? will the game run without engine.ini? i do not have the original anymore. =(
