    Common Errors and Fixes

    • Incorrect MelonLoader Version:

      • Ensure you are using MelonLoader version 0.5.7. Newer versions are NOT compatible.

    How can I use only the dynamic visible holstered weapons? For some reason, this changes the default model of Elster to the armored one.

      KLBR model is set as default, you maybe need to change the model selection.

    The larger models sink into the ground a bit (storch, star, falke) I presume this has something to do with scaling or something along those lines? I was just curious, do you plan on fixing this or is it not possible

    The GUI does not appear when I open a save or when I press F7 (I assume it is supposed to open under these circumstances). Additionally, the game switches to windowed mode when I open it, although I can set it back.

    My Elster has a Kolibri model. She's also levitating. So I assume the mod is working in some way aside from my inability to open the GUI. I would send screenshots of my game or the melon log, but I am not sure how.

      Did you read the pinned instructions? Follow the steps and when the GUI is open, read the description.

      I read the pinned instructions and now the GUI pops up. Any time I interact with it (clicking/dragging it, changing settings and values, etc) it minimizes SIGNALIS, and the taskbar is visible during the game as well. Is that intended?

      Yes, because the GUI is external, my mod changes the game setting to windowed, but it shouldn't minimize the game. It tries to reset the game settings after closing the GUI. If it still minimizes the game for some reason or the game settings won't reset, then there is hardly I can do something there.

      You don't have to do anything, I was just asking if you could.
      Another issue I am having is that sometimes there will be both Elster's model and another model existing simultaneously (i.e. I switched to the Mynah model, but I can still see Elster's legs poking out the bottom) and once this happens I cannot change the models anymore at all. Do you know anything about this?

      Did you deselect the other models first? If you can't change anything anymore, the XML got corrupted. To fix it, go to the ModGUI file and delete the .xml and .bak files. Also, next time, send me the log or at least the last log lines. Error messages would be useful.

      Deselecting the models solved the overlap, thank you. 
      I'm still having trouble with the GUI. Here are the Melonloader messages:

      All of the 'The file has been modified' messages appeared after I modified my model and I assume those are normal. 

      I also got this popup:

      If the mod works, it shouldn't be an issue.
      However, the file location for the _tmp.xml file is strange and should be in the ModGUI folder.

      The mod is able to successfully change the model, however, when I press F7, the model manager doesn't minimize, and it simply performs the same function that pressing F7 does when I'm not in SIGNALIS or another game. 
      I found the CMData2_tmp.xml file in my ModGUI folder, and I couldn't find it at the location indicated by the popup (C:\Windows\System32) so I don't know why it is throwing that error or whether that is even related to the problem at all.

    Just straight up doesn't change her appearance.

    I've got Melonloader 0.5.7 
    the GUI pops up with F7

    But no matter what parts I click and hit Apply, nothing changes

      It's not letting me copy and paste the logfile for whatever reason. But I'm not seeing any Error Messages at the end of it. It is however only recognizing one mod at the moment, and that's the StayDead mod. Not seeing your mod listed at all

      Is the File hierarchy correct?
      For logfile go to MelonLoader>Logs. You can open the textfile, copy the log and create a pastebin post pinned in my comment above.
      I also will look if the mod works on the latest Signalis version, someday. idk

      It is yes. It's in the ModelManager v1.1.2 folder thats in the Mod folder

    hey. so I've installed melon loader first then ran the game with it then i installed the mod and ran the game with both melon and it but no matter what i do the mod is acting weird. I  had to manually open the customisation tab and every time and when 
    i clicked on it signalis would minimise when its not windowed and when i manually set it to windowed signalis would just freeze whenever i interacted with the customisation tab and I had to click back on the signalis game tab to let it unfreeze and melonloader  says that there are not even any mods installed. when I also thought it would be important to mention that when i use the customisation tab signalis doesn't automatically go into windowed mode strangely enough I had to set it that way myself and last thing is that simply whatever I do in the customisation tab wont change how elster looks art all pls  help me with this, thanks

      Reading this comment gave me a stroke.

      Do you use the correct Melonloader version? (Did you read the instructions)
      If not, of course the mod won't work, even when you open the Tab manually.
      You know the mod works in game if: 
      - the Loading Menu of the mod appeared at the start of the game
      - the default Model is KLBR
      Also send me the logs, if you want me to understand the situation more.

      i apologise for the god awful writing from before lol. the default model is kLBR but the model manager tab dosent appear without me having to go to the mod overlay gui exe in the modelmanager file and executing it still, and messing around with the menu still dosent change elsters appearance still and im wondering if im doing something wrong? or maybe i installed it wrong. (and i did install the right version of melonloader and that seems to be working fine)

      Does the GUI appear? Does only ADLR not work? Did you use the Apply button? Describe exactly where the issue is.

      thats the thing the gui works the other character i cant take parts from and change as i like but when i check adler nothing happens even when i uncheck everything and check adler and hit apply im just invisible(also sorry for the late reply

      Edit: Fixed(?) Mod works when presented. No error messages found in the logs.

    Got a problem with the mod. Everything works fine [for a while it didn't but apparently I had to downgrade my version of melonloader] until I try to apply another model. The original Elster model stays and the new model is just placed on top of it without any animations. I'm going to try this with every model and see if it's consistent, since the one I used was Star.

    UPDATE: I'm an idiot and forgot to disable the Elster model and its attachments. However, the lack of animations was fixed by using the previous version of the mod.

      Thank you for the report. A fix is still needed, and I'm almost finished with it. The animation bug is again caused by the XML corruption, when the GUI gets closed. Why and how this corruption occurs is still a mystery to me, at least the fixed version should be able to handle it (Corruption handling). Hotfix will be uploaded in a few hours after some final refinement and testing. It will maybe take some days till the Nexus support manually approves my upload.

      I really hope this finally fixes it :/

    1. Hi, it seems like my mod just didn't finish loading all the models in. Did it work before at all? Can you try reinstalling the mod? Maybe without the Cameramod, I don't know if it's the cause for this. I will look into fixing my mod soon, trying to make it more robust.

      EDIT: nvm, it looks like it finished loading, does the LSTR model wear a hat? I can't find any errors in the logs

      I reinstalled the mod and uninstalled Cameramod, still nothing happens after pressing f7. Yes she wears a hat

      Normally, the window automatically appears the moment you are in the active game. Can you tab out and look if the GUI window is at the window bar? Else, I can offer a Discord call, where you can stream the game. My last guess would be antivirus not letting my GUI run, because it's an unknown external application.

      Yes, you're right, when I load a save, a small window opens and closes immediately, but I turned off the antivirus. Any ideas on how to fix this?

      Completely closed or just minimized? For the future, I can check if the GUI is constantly running and printing in the log for the closure reason. Seems to me, it gets closed externally by something else :/
      Again, you can add me on Discord and I can look how the GUI behaves when you stream.
      The only alternative for you to use it, is to open the XML file and manually change the values. This may be exhausting for you though :(

    The only mods I am using are the camera mod, and this one. I'm looking through the logs right now, and it mentioned something about .NET? Elster is wearing her hat, and the log isn't showing anything about "Retry loading XML" either. I downloaded .NET, but that didn't work, and now I'm being told

      You can try installing the missing framework, which has been told to you. The error message seems like from the GUI Application, not from my mod directly.
      Giving me the log would also help, understanding the context more.

    If the character didn't load in or the GUI won't appear. Look into the logs, if the following error appears:

    This means the XML got corrupted. To fix this you can just delete the XML file, a new XML gets generated. You will lose your saved presets, tho.

    I'm really sorry for the inconvenience and I will try to fix it, when I have the time for this ;((
