I really like the idea. It always feels weird that you get weapons, and even if you upgrade the weapon strength all the way, it feels barely better than the hands, and in fact, you have way fewer options with a weapon, so you'd think it would compensate with better damage.
That said, I don't think 50% and 100% is quite right. That's HUGE damage, and when the enemy blocks with bare hands, I think you should cut the advantage in half. So instead of doing 50% more damage, when it blocks it does 25% more damage. Instead of 100%, 50%, or something like that. I want the weapons to feel powerful and worthwhile, but I don't want them to break the game, y'know?
The game is already broken in many ways, that's for sure. Dude get kicked in the face and he's just eat it like champ and punch through your attack, blocking blade attack with barehand and take small chips damage.
But either way, I modified those damages of blade and blunt weapon to look reasonable realistic and it's just weird how the game claimed to be realistic in first place, yet you see how many things are all completely opposite. Most noticeable is the damage of blunt and blade weapon are completely not changed much compare to barehand attack.
