Does nothing but crash. I imagine the old versions are up because... one of them worked at some point?

THis doesn't work. Your program crashes everytime trying to load seattle and other content packs.

Programm cannot be started. I tried several systems (from old WinXP up to Win10) and the behaviour is always the same: The program dies with exception 0xe0434352 in KERNELBASE.dll. Which appears to be the Win32 exception for all uncaught CLR exceptions.

I I just tried working with the editor... tried to add a custom rifle to dead man story... Didnt work, tried changing one of the items to the rifle (testnote) didint work, so i was wondering if you could give me a few pointers on how i can get a custom rifle into standard storyline, for example i know how to put an item into a prop so i can pick it up, but how do i get the item to show up on the list in the srr editor when putting it into a prop...?

To add a new item to a content pack
      - Under menu option File, press 'Open content Pack'
select the 'project.cpack.bytes' file of a content pack
Now the content pack + all the dependant content packs will be loaded.

Either select an existing item and change all the field or fill out in the blank form all of the fields.
If you change the Id of an existing item, the editor will create a copy of the item with the new name.
Press save. The current selected item will be saved into the active content pack IF it is changed. Also the manifest will be updated.
Note that all the changed items or new items will be save within the active content pack.

The visual tree will be reloaded. Check if your item has indeed been saved, it should have a new entry, or if you didn't change the id of the old one, the values should reflex the changes.

If you only changed an existing one, and did not change the id field, all of the changes should be visible upon the next time you start SRR.

Then you can select the item as any other item in the SRR editor.

Thanks, I managed to make it work. I was using the save pack option from file instead of the save button on the bottom...

hmm I don't like how it collapses on saving or how it adds an extra object to my manifest file
another quick thing editing the modeless abilities seems to cause a crash

In the new version, the treeview state is maintained after saving, also extra objects to manifest files are a thing of the past.
The modeless ability editor is working again.

Can you send me the user.config file in C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\ShadowrunReturnsItemEdito\ShadowrunReturnsItemEdito_Url_[something]\0.1.0.67

and tell me the installation location of SRR

Or open it in a texteditor.
The value of the setting SRRLocation should point to the root directory of SRR
      <setting name="SRRLocation" serializeAs="String">
      <value>C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Shadowrun Returns</value>
      </setting>

The installation should be (, if your SRR location is C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Shadowrun Returns)
      C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Shadowrun Returns\ShadowrunReturnsAdvancedEditor\ShadowrunReturnsAdvancedEditor.exe
      C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Shadowrun Returns\ShadowrunReturnsAdvancedEditor\ShadowrunReturnsAdvancedEditor.exe.config
      C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Shadowrun Returns\ShadowrunReturnsAdvancedEditor\lib\Xceed.Wpf.Toolkit.dll

Also Dot net framework 4.5 should be installed, else it will crash. (4.0 will probably work, no garanties though)
      Download location: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30653

I hope this is enough information to run the editor successfully

      Have you installed the dotnet?
This folder is created when first starting the editor.
Try starting and then quitting, to see if the folder and user.config file is created

Can you copy the path which you are trying to link to?
Where did you unzip (folder +path) the editor?
Can you provide a screenshot of the crash?

The problem is that the editor needs admin rights. On win7 c:\progam files(x86)\ is a protected folder and only applications with admin rights have read/write permission. Try running the editor with admin rights.
