Hey! This mod looks awesome and I would like to try it.
Unfortunatly the "Shadow of the Tomb Raider Outfit Mod" also uses the dxgi.dll like this mod. So they don't work together, Is it possible to make both mods work in parallel?
I did the followings, but I couldn't run both reshade and Special K at the same time.
Rename reshade's dxgi.dll to ReShade64.dll Put this mod to performance mode
The versions are as follows.
Reshade 4.8.2 Apex 2.0-6-2-0 Special K for FFXV
I found https://steamcommunity.com/groups/SpecialK_Mods/discussions/17/1644295067073842048/ and I could run both reshade and Special K at the same time by the following steps.
1. From your SOTTR (Shadow Of The Tomb Raider) folder delete all the following Special K and ReShade files
apex_2.0.ini dxgi.dll dxgi.ini reshade-shaders folder ReShade.ini SpecialK64.pdb Version folder
2. Install ReShade Run ReShade_Setup_4.8.2.exe Select Shadow of the Tomb Raider Others : default settings
3. Download Apex and put the .ini into the same Folder
4. Activate it ingame reshade menu with HOME and select apex_2.0.ini. (> key) In settings the usage mode should be set to performance mode. Exit the game.
5. Create a folder for reshade files on your desktop
6. Open your SOTTR folder and move the following ReShade files to the folder you created apex_2.0.ini dxgi.dll ReShade.ini
7. Place all the files from Special K into your SOTTR folder.
8. Run the game, check if the Special K menu is working. (Ctrl + Shift + Back Space)
9. Go to Documents\My Mods\SpecialK\PlugIns\ThirdParty and create a folder named "ReShade" there.
10. Move the files from your ReShade folder from desktop to ReShade folder in Documents\My Mods\SpecialK\PlugIns\ThirdParty.
11. In the same folder rename the dxgi.dll to ReShade64.dll.
12. Open your game, open the Special K menu, go to Plug-Ins --> Third-Party and check the box for ReShade (Official) and then close the game.
13. Run the game again and now you should be able to open the ReShade menu (HOME key). However nothing may appear there. If so go to the settings tab and there should be two lines "Effect Search Paths" and "Texture Search Paths".
14. Now open your SOTTR folder and there should be reshade-shaders folder, open it and select the path for Shaders and Textures and paste them into the lines mentioned step above.
15. Now click Reload button in ReShade and your Shaders should appear.
reshade v5.0+ doesn't like the dll to be renamed. I used reshade v4.9.1, and the rename worked:
1. Remove previously installed SpecialK, ReShade or Apex mods. 2. Download SpecialK, unpack it to the folder containing SOTTR.exe. it should unpack dxgi.dll, SpecialK64.pdb, and a folder named "Version" that contains 3 files (2 @ ini, 1 txt). 3. Run the game. In game, press CTRL+SHIFT+BKSPC. This key combo should bring up SpecialK. If it is the first time SpecialK is launching, you are required to accept the license agreement. Once you accept, you can access the control panel. Exit the game. 4. When you run SpecialK the first time, it creates this folder path: "Documents\My Mods\SpecialK\PlugIns\ThirdParty". 5. Go to "Documents\My Mods\SpecialK\PlugIns\ThirdParty" and create a subfolder named "ReShade" there 6. Download reshade (i.e. ReShade_Setup_4.9.1.exe), and place a copy in "Documents\My Mods\SpecialK\PlugIns\ThirdParty\ReShade" 7. Make a copy of SOTTR.exe and put that also in "Documents\My Mods\SpecialK\PlugIns\ThirdParty\ReShade" 8. Run the reshade setup (i.e. ReShade_Setup_4.9.1.exe). It will ask for the location of your game. Give it the location of the SOTTR.exe that you copied into "Documents\My Mods\SpecialK\PlugIns\ThirdParty\ReShade". This will install ReShade into "Documents\My Mods\SpecialK\PlugIns\ThirdParty\ReShade" instead of the main game folder. 9. Rename "dxgi.dll" to "ReShade64.dll". 10. Download the Apex mode, and place a copy of apex_2.0.ini into "Documents\My Mods\SpecialK\PlugIns\ThirdParty\ReShade".
The files in "Documents\My Mods\SpecialK\PlugIns\ThirdParty\ReShade" should be:
reshade-shaders (a folder from reshade) apex_2.0.ini dxgi.log ReShade.ini ReShade_Setup_4.9.1.exe ReShade64.dll ReShade64.log SOTTR.exe
11. Launch the game. Press CTRL+SHIFT+BKSPC to open SpecialK control panel. Expand "Plugins" - "Third Party". Toggle on "ReShade (Official)". A checkmark should appear in the toggle box. If the checkmark appears and then disappears, then SpecialK is not finding the "ReShade64.dll". If "ReShade64.dll" is in the right place, the toggle will be successful and the checkmark will remain. 12. Press "Home" key, and ReShade control panel will come up. Select apex_2.0.ini. (> key) to apply the Apex shader mod.
You should be good now. If you want to clean up the files on "Documents\My Mods\SpecialK\PlugIns\ThirdParty\ReShade" , you can delete:
6 March 2023 - goozor1's instructions work for me with the adjustment of the reshade file folder structure. It is now Documents\My Mods\SpecialK\PlugIns\Unofficial\ReShade and I used the (Custom) checkbox within Special K's control panel. The Official one would not load reshade into the game and the Home key did nothing.

What do you mean by the custom checkbox? The one that shows up as unofficial? It still won't load for me. Thanks for your time~ I've tried just about every combination of renaming that can be done (on 4.9.1 and recent), but if I have both specialk and reshade--- whether it's through a plugin or normal placement, it causes a direct x error/won't launch.
For ReShade 4.7.0 just make sure to apply ReShade first incase mess up anything, chose performance mode and rename the dxgi.dll to d3d11.dll, it should work perfectly For other version, rename it to d3d11.dll or ReShade64.dll or d3d12.dll update: 2021.2.19 5:50pm I found that d3d11 could overlap with dxgi if the game crashed once, rename to d3d12 can solve it but might need to try it a few times
Hello, I'm new to modding games but think I got this one figured out. In the reshade menu (Which personally, I hade to use FN+HOME to open menu) I have selected the Apex.ini and it has selected the three files it's supposed to and i'm pretty sure it works. Graphics look great but I also am unable to toggle on and off with the SHIFT+F2 key combo. Is this still legit? Thanks for the Mod by the way!
reshade 4.7.0 does not load your file properly. First one has to download "legacy" components to even have all fx u have in ini and even then more then half of fx are not enabled Only curves, luma sharpen and tonemap are enabled?

Would be nice ;).
Edit:
I'm not sure if it works. This mod does with performance mode, but my Outfit mod doesn't.
Rename reshade's dxgi.dll to ReShade64.dll
Put this mod to performance mode
The versions are as follows.
Reshade 4.8.2

was using geforce experience but this is way better and more realistic, thank you for this!
