For new people who want to install the mods I give you the steps:
1- Go to the Special K website (https://www.special-k.info)
2- In the "Stable" section click on "Archive"
3- Open the .zip and put all the files it contains in the game folder
4- Rename the file "SpecialK64.dll" to "dxgi.dll"
5- Launch the game wait until you are in the game menu and exit the game
6- In the folder of your game you should have "SK_Res" go in it and create two folders "inject → textures" (it should give "Shadow of the Tomb Raider\SK_Res\inject\textures")
7- Then the mods "Tatoo Lara" there are two files ".dds" take them and put them in the textures folder created previously
And there you go you know how to install mods 😅 (not true even I had a hard time)
look i don't know if you can't speak english that well but there are like so many ways to write better by using apps and shit. if you want people to download your mod, you gotta make sure your making sense because the description is all types of fucked up. Other than that it's a really good mod 👌. Maybe you should add a description on how the SK_Res works for new players. 😊
Hey you to get this working with dx12 you going to need these mod either true 4k maps for lara or the baddie lara then rename the files in this mod from A1512489 to 5502 , EA67996F to 30171. replace those files in either of the mods i suggested. then rezip it with 7zip or what ever you use dump it in the sottor mod manager and of to the races you go. so far with my testing i have not found any issues
Sir, did you type those numbers correctly? The second file EA replacing to 30171 actually overdrive an existing file at True 4K maps for Lara, but the first one you said to re-name to 5502 and there is no such a file on True 4K maps for Lara, so its additional file instead of swapping. I haven't tried yet, but Im doing it and will let you know if its working.
After checking: Omg, this is working! You are my hero :p I wanted to play on DX12 cuz then at village, where there is a lot of NPCs i got like 90fps and on DX11 it was only like 55? There is not such a difference outside the village, but still. Thanks a lot man!
Installing: You can actually just open two zip files, re-name those files while they are still in there and just select 2 files and drag them into True 4K Maps .zip folder, it will replace the old one. No need to unzip :p
This mod completely broke the Epic Games version of the game. - Tried installing, after that the game won't start. - Tried uninstalling by removing all the mod files: the game won't start. - Tried verifying the game files: the game won't start.
I uninstalled the game and I'm currently downloading and installing the whole ~66 GB game again. Let's hope it helps... EDIT: This solved the problem, luckily.
I understand that all the mods won't work with the Epic games version, but this is the first time a mod completely destroys the game. Also, usually it's mentioned in the description if the mod is not suitable with the Epic Games version. In this case there should be a clear warning that the mod breaks the Epic Games version.
I do the first step. But when I try to download the tattoos, I am not finding any file that in the game directory says SK_Res. Is there another way now?
