I can't stand C.Luddington round face in Tomb Raider, especially because Lara has been all time athletic. When did Lara managed to fed up? Main reason why I have played this TR only for 10 minutes.
This mod looks very promising, but what exactly does it alters? Is it only face or outfits too? Is this mod compatible with other outfit mods? Can I run this on default Special K v23.9.10.5 and DirectX 12?
Edit: Answer to my question if someone in the future is curios. This does work only on DirectX 11, probably Special K doesn't support DirectX 12 texture injection. As for Special K, you can download newer one and just rename SpecialK64.dll to dxgi.dll and move it to the game folder.
I agree, it's been one of my biggest gripes about this game. The setting is incredible, fun gameplay (actual tombs this time round), atmosphere out of this world, story is decent (Never been a strong point for TR), stunning graphics. But Lara doesn't have that badass, power fantasy look as she did in the Classic and Legend era games. So this mod solves that while not totally destroying the original intent and art direction. She still cries too much in the cinematics instead of being sassy and cold, but it's an improvement to the experience.
That's why I ported this mod to DX12 because this is such a gamechanger. People need to run on DX12 for the performance, HDR, and better graphics (DX11 is missing some features). Also yes it's compatible with all outfit mods it only changes face textures.
Hey! I have converted this mod to SOTTR Mod Manager, so we don't have to use DX11 and Special K. I've also made another version that has some personal edits, but i still keep the original separate. I was hoping its ok to upload it to the nexus, with credit for the original DDS files to you?
I see you haven't been active for a little while, but hoping you could get back to me on this :D I have a mod-page ready to publish, just need the green light from you to share it with the community.
I converted this mod myself too. It's a very good mod as she has that awesome classic look (Legend trilogy). If he doesn't respond maybe one of us can post it with just giving credit?
I'm guessing the author probably won't be using this account for a long time, so why don't you post a mod page out and then emphatically state that this mod was made under this author's original dds file and is not pirated. I don't think nexus is going to ban a non-pirated update mod.
found a fix that works for me if you can't launch a game with Special K
- Download Special K archive version from here: https://discourse.differentk.fyi/t/download-special-k/1461 - Unzip ONLY SpecialK64.dll file, it's all you need. - Rename that file to DXGI.dll and drop it to your game installation folder - Try to run a game and it probably wont launch or you will get an error - dxgi.ini file will generate and also appear in your game folder - open dxgi.ini file with notepad or wordpad - find a line that says[Steam.Log] Silent=falseand change "false" to "true" and save and exit. - Try to run a game again it should work now :)
I don't know if anyone can help me but I don't know where else to ask. I downloaded the mod and wanted to make some edits to the .dds file, but after I save the changes, Lara's face turns to black. What am I doing wrong? How can I edit the files?
Needed a no-makeup version, for whatever reason it looks like she has stubble in game (not sure if it's just the blush/cheek contrast making it look this way), love the brows and eyes though.
this is what i'm trying to figure out too. downloading the ffxv sk tool and extracting it to the sottr install path just made the game give me a black screen on startup, with nothing else. I downloaded the SK tools installer instead, and that runs fine, so does sottr, so I put this mod's files in the folders i made in the install location and they won't show up in the game, even though sk tools is running fine,
Download archive version of latest Special K Tool and extract file named "SpecialK64.dll"
Rename "SpecialK64.dll" to "DXGI.dll"
Copy "DXGI.dll" to game root folder (right next to SOTTR.exe)
Disable DirectX12! Texture injection only works in DirectX 11 mode!
If previous steps done correctly - you will see Special K Overlay inside the game in main menu.
Set Textures Quality to Ultra!
Press Ctrl+Shift+Backspace to start the SK menu, then click at the top on FILE - BROWSE TEXTURE ASSETS- INJECTABLE TEXTURES
Turn off the game.
Copy .dds files from "mod" to "c:\Users\User_Name\Documents\My Mods\SpecialK\Profiles\Shadow of the Tomb Raider Definitive Edition\SK_Res\inject\textures" (%USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Mods\SpecialK\Profiles\Shadow of the Tomb Raider Definitive Edition\SK_Res\inject\textures
Edited my comment to day this is THE BEST Lara face texture ever! I really feels so much more like classic Lara. It's amazing what a difference few details can make! Thank you!
