A guy on the Darksouls/Fromsoft modding Discord posted these instructions, they were individual responses to a person and not a comprehensive guide. All credit goes to @foxyhooligans.??Q: questioner, F: Foxy.

Q: "For Sekiro katana skins, what actually causes the Sakura Dance-not-dealing-damage bug?"
F: "Outdated weapon model" "its missing the new dummypoly they added"
Q: "I see" "Is there a way to add it manually? Like, what programs should I use?"
F:  "Did you make the mod originally?"
      Q: "No I didn't"
F: "Ok you're trying to update someone elses then?"
Q: "Yeah, but only for personal uses, although I'll message them to see if they want me to send the fix to them."
F: "Nah the reason I ask is because we dont know if the mod creator made any changes to the dummypoly to begin with"
F: "but what you'd need is a program called flver editor" "open the vanilla weapon and open the dummies json"
F: "copy that into notepad" "Open the modded weapon and paste and save"
F: "But if the mod creator made changes to the dummies it would be a little trickier" "cause then you'd have to adjust the position of them"
Q: "This is located in the .dcx files, right?"
F: "When you open the model in flver editor, there is a button that says "dummy""

Not the prettiest instruction but it got the job done for me. You will need some tools.
      YABBER - https://www.nexusmods.com/sekiro/mods/42?tab=description
      FLVER Editor - https://github.com/asasasasasbc/FLVER_Editor
      UXM - https://www.nexusmods.com/sekiro/mods/26

      Yabber unpacks the .dcx files.
UXM unpacks the main data files, the .bdt and .bhd data files, inside of which is the .dcx file you need to grab the base dummypoly from.
FLVER Editor is what you will actually use to copy over the Json.

Now, I am gonna do you a favor that should save you some time. I will give you the Base Json data to copy over into the mod you want to update, meaning you should only need to use YABBER and FLVER.

Google drive link with the Data, you shouldn't need to download to view it, but I could be wrong. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1mwlWuD9w-fMEdeTrm91Ud07jLrvxD4yS/view?usp=sharing let me know if it needs fixing.

The mod you are trying to update will probably come as a parts folder that is supposed to be placed in your mods folder.
      1. Open the parts folder, then drag and drop "wp_a_0300.partbnd.dcx" onto "YABBER.dcx.exe" to unpack it.
      2. Open the new "wp_a_0300-partsbnd" folder and navigate to the "WP_A_0300" folder within it.
      3. Inside "WP_A_0300" you should see "WP_A_0300.flver" drag this onto the "MySFformat.exe" tool in your FLVER Editor folder.
      4. In the editor interface on the right hand side, you should see a "Dummy" button, click that.
      5. In the tab that pops up, you should see a large box full of text, replace that text with the text from my drive link, then press "JsonMod" to save it.
      6. Close FLVER editor and repack the .dcx file by dragging the folder (with the updated file inside) you got from the initial unpack back over "YABBER.dcx.exe" to repack it into "wp_a_0300.partsbnd.dcx" which can be safely placed within your mods parts folder.

The mod should work from there. I am terrible at writing tutorials so if you have any questions, I can try to clarify, alternatively you can tell me what mod you want updated and I can give it a shot.

Sorry for the wall of text.

Correction, after you unpack the initial .dcx you will then have to unpack the .partsbnd file, before you get the "wp_a_0300-partsbnd" folder.
To do that just drag the .patrsbnd file over Yabber.exe NOT Yabber.DCX.exe. And when repacking at the end, you will have to repack the .partsbnd before you repack .dcx.

Sorry, I'm writing this at 3:AM cause if I wait, I will forget to write it at all, so please excuse the typos and such.

Hello, I have followed all of your instructions, however, there's an issue that after I repacked the wp300 and replace it with the old mod, the appearance of the mod remains the same but unable to use any form of combat art. When I replaced it with the unmodified mod file then it works again. Could you help me modify this mod please ? Sorry if I'm asking too much but I really like this mod and unable to use Sakura Dance with it is such shame.

If you're okay with it, here's the mod link: https://www.nexusmods.com/sekiro/mods/439?tab=description
      It's the dual sword folder.

      Thank you in advance.
