The Legend of Heroes Trails of Cold Steel series is rapidly gaining popularity in the west. This is actually done well too. As an aside if you haven't ever heard of the Trails series check it out. Party-based JRPG with a huge emphasis on dialogue, world building, political intrigue, and guild life where you are a member of a team/group/class and not a solo machine.

as much as I love it he does look a bit shiny is that because of the normal/specular mapping? if so I could do with being toned down a bit so he's less plasticy looking
Having now actually installed and played it the shiny-ness is actually not that bad and not to noticable I will say reans hair on the blue/black hair version seems really washed out when playing so making that darker would probably look a bit better
