Hi man! Love your preset! But I have few questions: 1) There is technicolor shader with film scratches, grains and kinda 3d effect that wasn't showed on screenshots. The main problem with it that I can't really disable it because it re-enables on restart. Had to set everything to zero in its configuration. Is it some mistake on my side? 2) MagicDOF shader frequently messes with HUD panels and menus. My solution so far is to disable it, but maybe there is better solution?
the DOF messing with the hud is because I didnt know how to mask the hud at the time of making this, I didnt mind because it was easy enough to turn off when needed.
Technicolor on the other hand, this is because of the version of Reshade you're using, Later versions COMPLETELY change what Technicolor does. Makes it this really heavy Film effect, originally it was just a color filter with a slightly blue/white tint.
I recommend disabling both then checking the (Save current preset file) box under settings.
then exit the game and restart, I believe that should remove them both from the saved preset. then disable the Save setting to prevent accidentally dissabling everything if you hit the (toggle all key) before closing the game. I believe its (Page Up)
Unfortunaltly dont remember exactly what reshade version was before the Technicolor change, I think 5.0.2 was what I used to make this preset, incase you wanted to try reinstalling an older version
Thanks for reply! I am new to nexusmods, so I have no idea how to get notifications on replies so I just saw it. Anyway, I disabled technicolor and magicdof, and had a great time completing the game. Thanks again for preset!
glad to hear. If you are playing the game modded I recomend Switcheroo Prosthetics. Lets you buff your sword with all kinds of neat visual effects. using the fire ones in the dark caves makes you look like Gwyn with the glow
no idea why but I just can't get this to work for me. I tried running it with the newest version of reshade and with the 4.9.1 version you mentioned below (with all shaders installed in both cases), but either way this preset will not function at all.
I'd really like to use this but I can't figure out the issue. could you please help me resolve it?
I have used Knight's Winterfox ReShade previously, but that's all. I've tried getting rid of every trace of Knight's while leaving only your preset's data intact, but Reshade still absolutely refuses to enable it.
it appears as expected in the Reshade UI box indicating which preset is currently active, but it doesn't actually activate a single effect of any sort and the game is left with 100% vanilla visuals. no idea how or why.
i think i have effect toggle enabled. try pressing the (PAGE UP) key. if your keyboard doesnt have a page up key, remap Effect Toggle in the reshade menu where you set things like screenshot location and reshade menu themes. it should be right at the top.
ok so i reinstalled sekiro to test things anf i got the exact same problem as you! it appears what happened somehow was that (LOAD ONLY ENABLED EFFECTS) was toggled on as well as (Save current preset) and i must have hit the effect toggle key before shutting down the game and it turned off all the enabled effects. i can try to read the .ini file to see what was enabled. but idk what order those things where in/ if the .ini file keeps records of edited but disabled effects. so a bunch of things i might have messed with but didnt use are probably in change logs.
I'll work on fixing this and upload a fixed file. but it might take a few days.
Ok. fixed the problem. disable (LOAD ONLY ENABLED EFFECTS) & (SAVE CURRENT PRESET) in reshade settings. delete the old and re-download the .ini preset file from nexus. place it somewhere thats easy to find, Reshade cant read you downloads folder or compressed folders. then find it in the reshade search menu.
I just did this and it all worked as intended again.
SIDE NOTE: Recently got a new HDR TV, and i noticed this reshade with HDR enabled in game makes things VERY BLUE, exagurating the reshade effects. mainly the (FAKEHDR) and (LIFT GAMMA GAIN) if anyone is using this and enables in game HDR just disable or adjust these effects if you dont like the overly blue look.
I followed the steps, but when it enables the two technicolor boxes the game ends up looking like an old broken static television. No idea what I did wrong, but it looks fine if I disable those two.
Just letting you know, in case it's important somehow.
the new verison of reshades completly changed the way technicolor function. i hate it honestly. the old verison just added a white/ blue color balance. the new ones are old filmic effects. and depending on what shaders you install durring the setup process you can get some effects to duplicate causing problems. if duplication is the issue just go into the game files where the shaders are and delete one of the duplicates.
if you have the new grainy, chromatic aberation Technicolor shaders i recomend uninstalling the current reshade and downloading the older version 4.9.1. if that doesnt work i can try uploading just the old version of the shader onto the page.
ITS BEEN... A FEW YEARS SINCE I MADE THIS. My old PC broke not long after making this and I was very close to releasing an updated version. but sadly not just my old pc but my HDD got fried. LOST ALL MY WORK. finally got a new pc and reinstalled Sekiro. will try to continue my work and remake my changes at some point. but this uses an older version of Reshade, so some presets might not work correctly now.
Before loosing my data I had rebalanced the dark values and fixed the DOF. but it took a while and I don't fully remember what I did. but i do have compressed screenshots of later versions still to work off of.
