    I did something ground breaking for my little monkey brains..
    I used razer software (comes with the mouse) to create 2 macros

    One macro to press and hold "V" (look at avatar) + "Right click" with a slight delay.
    One more macro for disabling the effects of the above.

    Result, now i can skate almost just like in Tony Hawk ! xD
    With no need to hold down any other buttons to control the camera (than just moving the mouse) my brain feels free to pull off tricks.
    With your mod and with a press of one button Schedule 1 transforms into THPS!

    I have been skating for more than a decade (in the past) so this feels very sweet but one complaint i have, the "eat the dirt" system, it's very punishing even when you do land properly
    (even if you press space to retract the board), you end up eating dirt many times unfairly.
    Still... since we can use "wimp" mode it's okay i guess, i disabled the "pro" thing and im fine with it,
    cant wait for the "Grinds" update ! :DD

      Fixed the landing detection - was a bit wonky. Might still be wonky, but less so.

      As long as you hit or hold space before the board hits a surface you will land 100% of the time. if your eating s#*! its because you clicked it to late. it took me a while to get used to it too but now i rarely ever fall unless im cutting it too close to the line, or i gained to much speed doing a long chain of tricks.

    doesnt seem to be happening to anyone else so its probably something i messed up on my end, but after i land a trick i cant click on the done button in the storage racks or collect from lab ovens. its almost like theres an invisible bar blocking ui access. just thought id mention it in case its happening to anyone else

    Edit: Seemed to have fixed it by turning off all pro settings in the pause menu and then reapplying the settings i want on!

      That is odd - I will test it out today and see if I can get it to happen for me. If I can, I will put a fix in.
      You never know what thing is strangely linked to another, so its just a matter of waiting for issues and fixing them as a modder.

      Installed the mod, loaded my save, jumped off the stairs and equipped the board, landed wheels down, but fell on my face took immense amount of damage. Went to do a deal and couldn't interact with the UI to hit accept on the deal (could use 1 to proceed, could select from my tool bar the weed to sell, but couldn't hit the proceed to deal UI prompt nor the accept after putting the weed in the slot to finish the deal). Normal mod, didn't touch the settings either.

      I tested it a few ways today and can't get it to do it - but you aren't alone, so something is making it happen.
      My current suspicion is the new UI components I added are getting in the way of something. But, they are attached directly to the HUD, and not the Handover or Deal UIs.

      Anyways, let me know (anyone) if you see it again. I will release some fixes tomorrow and hopefully can get this figured out before hand

      no it is doing that for me now as well. you can hit 1 to give the sample but u cant hit the done button.

    Please let me know if you have the UI problem. I am going to be doing a release tomorrow to fix two things, and likely add an additional option (potentially a slider) to set landing difficulty.

    I prefer the landing to be difficult - makes the pay out more sweet and I have been practicing to time it right.
    That said, I understand some of you don't like the current difficulty settings.

    Current settings:
    Wimpy Mode - No Crashing
    Pro Skater Mode - Makes landing more difficult (landing angle checks), but pays out
    Neither selected essentially puts you at a minimal difficulty to land but doesn't pay.

    The landing system checks board angle (is board upside down or sideways). I can tune the angles it allows.
    Would a slider be preferred, or some more settings - let me know what you all are thinking.

    What did you do? i can barley land a normal kickflip with out crashing now? like i eat sh&t 40-45% of the time now. that and after quitting the game and them rejoining later i have the same thing where i cant click the done button to give a sample to a new customer.

    Made some enhancements
    - Added Two Trick UI elements (Details and main Trick + Points)
    - Enhanced landing detection
    - - Harder to land things as Pro (but pays cash on landing)
    - Breaking a trick in mid air now works properly
    - A ton of little things that were mentioned below or found along the way
    - Settings now actually save (forgot to write the Save() line....)
    - Adjusted how Cash is determined
    - - You can see in the logs now
    - - Impossibles > Kickflips > Shoveits

    I don't know... enjoy

    This is a very fun mod but i can't for the life of me get down the right timing and charge rate, could you please add some discreet UI element to display the "charging power"?
    Somehting like a power gauge that rises as we hold the jump button, this will help all players get more consistent with tricks and have less randomness produced.

    Thank you for your work, this mod is extremely fun... now i just gamble to have "free money" to "eat dirt" but it feels so good ! x'D

    Version 1.3 is now live.

    Added Settings to Pause Menu (Escape --> Bottom Right of Screen)
    - Wimpy Mode: No more crashing, at all
    - Pro Skater Mode: Cash on landing successful tricks
    - Loud Logging: This mod has a lot of debugging needed to get it to work, I keep the loggers quiet for you, but if you want to see them, just click this and look at the MelonLoader console.
    Note: I am aware that the checkboxes look terrible, I tinkered with them for over two hours and decided I don't actually give a s#*!
    Another Note: You can use Wimpy and Pro Skater Mode at the same time (*cough cough* cheaters!)

    Settings are saved to a file in C:/Users/[YourName]/AppData/LocalLow/TVGS/Schedule 1/SkateboardPro_settings.txt- This means that settings are global across your saves. I am not worried about making these save dependent (yet), but there may be a use case good enough to take the time.

    Tricks can now be stopped mid air by pressing Space (while in air).

    I feel like I added some other stuff, but I can't remember at this point.

    Things I am working on:
    - Properly networked Co-Op
    - Co-Op fish-eye lens
    - Grinds (this may actually be possible, more than I originally thought)

    Other Mod I am working on: Gang Wars
    - Adds two forms of Quests to the game to increase feeling of progression and lead to Gang Wars
    - - Errands: Each NPC will give you a fetch or delivery quest daily to boost Gang Rep and NPC Friendliness (mod's version, on top of current Relationship) (Leverages the Contract object, already networked)
    - - Main Story Quest: At certain NPC Friendliness and Gang Reputation, new Quests will open up that allow a different type of progression (Leverages the Quest object, already networked)
    - - Gangs: Each area has a resident gang. You and your Co-op pals are the new gang in town
    - - Gang Wars: As Rival Gangs are unlocked via the Quest progression system, Gang Rep will determine "warring" status with them
    - - Rep and Friendliness are earned and lost by doing errands, quests, pickpocketing, injuring, or other interactions with flagged NPCs.
    - - Compass and Map tagging already working
    - - Warring Gang Members may spot you and call in back up, spawning in more Rival thugs

    When I get Gang Wars out, I am going to rig Skateboard Pro to it as a set of optional Side-Quests for skateboarders to knock out.

    I say all of this with one thing in mind: The game is in early access - if it doesn't get easier to work with networked objects in the IL2CPP build through a proper API implemented at TVGS, then a lot of this is wishful thinking. I can get 85% of it working, but that last 15% is crucial to making the Co-op amazing.

    If you read this Tyler, HMU - I already wrote the network object code you need and put it in a bundled UASSET that you can just drop into the game and push. I know that would never happen, but just in case.
  8. This mod's really cool, but could you add a setting to disable crashing and also disabling the money rewards? I want to do tricks without worrying about landing them perfectly every single time

      I second this. Really cool mod/concept but I'd love the option to disable crashing and or damage along with cash for tricks. I think this will be one of the more popular mods for this game, keep it up!

      I have a few options that I want to put together, so I will add this to it.

      • Always Land
      • Damage on Fall
      • Cash on Landing
      • Skateboard Tricks are crimes
      • MelonLoader Logs (currently turned off for releases because the mod can be very verbose)

      Feel free to suggest more. Some suggestions are easier than others, i.e., networking and control assignment are hard, but preventing certain cause/effect triggers is easy.

    Added impossible/end over end flips (Shift Key) and Cash on successful landing.
    Cash on success has quite a few factors: skateboard type, speed, trick rotations, etc.
    This should help with your new hospital bills.

    Now get out there and go pro!

    When I try to download this it downloads as a .rar not a zipped file like all the others on nexus and it just doesn't work if I drop it in the mods folder
    idk what to do with that or if i'm somehow doing it wrong

      Make sure you downloaded the correct file for your game version

      Download WinRar to unzip a .rar - its another form of compression.
      Newer than .zip, but still like 30 years old now.
      Just unpack/unzip it into the mods folder created by MelonLoader and enjoy.
      Two versions of the file, one for normal game, one for alternate (if you don't know, don't worry about it, you have to work to get to that point).

      WinRar is a well-known and arguably better form of WinZip. You should really have it on every windows install.
