    Love this mod and can't believe Tyler didn't do something like this in base game, since routing just looks like a bunch of objects with the same names.

    Can confirm the non-saving issue when using a bed, which is odd. When saving with a bed, it clears the folder with the data in it, so if you don't save with the wall button after, you lose your named objects.

    I've made it a habit to copy the folder when I start playing so I know I have a copy if something happens.

    Also, you can rename other things (chem stations, packing stations, brick press, probably pots as well, though I haven't tried that one), but it's a process.
    EDIT: i should note that you will only see these names on the assign clipboard for employees.
    The most straight forward method I can come up with is:
    Pick a handler with no job or routes.
    Add a new route and select the object you want to rename (you don't need to select a destination object, and you can do multiple at once, but keep track of which one is which)
    Save your game
    Go to your save file for the game you are using "\Saves\STRING\SaveGame_#\Properties\PROPERTYYOUAREDOING\Employees\Named Employee\" and open Configuration.json
    Find the SourceGUID string you need, should look like:    "Routes": {
            "Routes": [
                {
                    "SourceGUID": "STRING",
    You want what's in quotes where STRING is
    in "Saves\STRING\SaveGame_#\RenameablePlaceables\" open GUIDMAPPING.json, go to the end of the (possibly massive) string and it should end in "}
    after the " and before the } enter ,"YOURSTRING":"YourNewName"
    Save the file, overwriting the original and load your game.

      yeah so the clipboard stuff will work regardless of whether you renamed it through the in game UI or added it manually in your save file, i should probably figure out a better way to do this but since it doesn't already have an existing label i'd rather just not have to deal with creating UI on the fly.

      my biggest problem (and i imagine this is what bugs most people) at the end of the day was not being able to see what shelf is going to what mixer, things like pots most people typically just have one thing in a pot anyway so i don't really see the added value in trying to make it work there as well

      I'm not even sure how you would go about making a UI for it. it sounds not worth the time.

      And yes. base game needs a way to rename shelves. and label them (yes, there's a mod for that as well).
      and as an extension of tyler adding that to base game, he should add the ability to name other stations as well.

    It seems that your vehicle trunk gets renamed to whatever you last renamed or looked at.

    Edit:
    Just went back into game going around and the issue above isnt only limited to vehicle trunks its also appearing in dead drops and loading bay at stores.

      ok good to know about it happening with dead drops/loading bays - fyi this is already a known bug and is documented in the description of the mod. since it's a visual glitch that doesn't impact gameplay, i'm not planning on looking at this for now.

    does this mod save the name straight into the game save or does it create a separate save? this is a great mod but i dont want my saves breaking because it has stuff written by external mods.

      It saves directly into the game save, but in a separate file. This shouldn't break any saves since it doesn't interact with any of the game-managed save files.

      easier to help if you join discord but regardless - i'm 90% sure this bug is because saving from sleeping is handled differently to saving from interacting with the door button thing. i haven't had a chance to look at this in more detail yet, but for now could you try saving explicitly with the button on the door and see if that fixes things?

    great idea for a mod, wish the dev thought of it. makes figuring out what your workers are doing and where they are working easier for when they bug out.
