Hi, since this mod exists, is there another mod that allows you to manually edit the names of the customers/npcs. Purely for games with my friends or solo to give them familiar names or play around with. Whether it be per save or for the entire game, either is fine. If not, that would be a great mod.
installed as instructed, launched the game with mod installed. closed the game and went to my MelonPreference.cfg file under UserData and there is nothing in there. Not sure if something isn't working on my end or the mod isn't writing its file. MelonLoader shows the mod being active and connecting to your twitch as an anonymous user.
Here's something weird... i changed the name of the file to MelonPreferences2.cfg to see if another one would be built... and a new one wasnt... but once i was in the game and testing some other mods i went to check on it and it compiled it settings in the MelonPreferences2 file.... so now i'm just going to test it and see what i can and can't do
I followed the steps from the github and they initialize correctly as far as melonloader but after that the configuration options don't end up in my melonpreferences file. I tried removing the file and restarting the game to see if the mod would remake the file but it's still not showing up.
i have no idea how to actually get this mod to work. i cant even find my config file let alone edit it. i would really like my chat to be involved but the github steps down show where to find the files to edit. a video would really help. otherwise stay away from this mod cuz the creator clearly isnt interested in actually showing how to get this mod to work. i guess you gotta be a computer god to figure it out
I followed the instructions, finally got the file to save correctly and the mod isnt working, none of the configs are showing in the mod manager either.
I'm not sure what you mean by mod manager? The newest version is built for MelonLoader v0.7.0. So, once the mod is in the Mods directory, with its TwitchLib dependencies alongside it, the configuration file can be edited by modifying the MelonPreferences.cfg file in UserData, which is in your Schedule I game directory.
This is technically possible, but unlikely something I'd work on in the near future. Want to ensure that the current features are complete and stable first, before adding any large(r) features to the mod! Once stability is more proven, I'm open to adding more features.
With that said, GitHub is linked in the description, and I do welcome contributions! :)
Text to Speech could be a worse experience if not human-like voice. Is it possible to integrate more text features other than name though? Like what message they send to the steam chat while being a customer will be msg ingame phone, and maybe the customer after the deal can give a bonus of +- <num> % to the player
The preferences are saved automatically when you start and then exit the game with the mod in the Mods folder. It's usually something like /path/to/Schedule I/UserData/MelonPreferences.cfg. There are two categories the mod uses: TwitchCustomers_General and TwitchCustomers_Integration.
For now the Melon version uses the shared MelonPreferences.cfg file. In future versions, I will split it out into its own file.
As far as I'm aware, BepInEx & MelonLoader are not compatible side by side by themselves. There is a compatibility layer to have both used, but I haven't tested it out.
Once I'm able to test it out, I'll update the mod page with more info! (As an aside, I'm evaluating cross-building the mod for both BepInEx and MelonLoader in the future, but haven't started work on it.)

i'd love to have the ability for chatters to send text messages to the phone as their claimed NPC :)
