7 hours in and the fix works as well as I hoped. A few of the character cut ins (brain crush) are stretched but I suppose there's no workaround for this as of now.
I'm curious, although I won't be testing it since it works this well; what the difference between the 'patch+inject' and a 'hex edit' would be? My guess is that the hex edit would miss some cutscene elements, but I don't know enough about it.
Like GucciMane mentioned below, if it's not working for you, try downloading the optional file instead of the main one, then use the exe corresponding to your resolution and run UUU as shown in the video. It's working for me on 3440x1440 on version 1.04.
I have downloaded UltraWide Fix-2-v1-0-1624719758, deleted the old .bak file and patched the game. It says that 0 bytes have been written with 3440x1440p then used Uuuclinet to inject like normal, but it still doesn't seem to be working

Thank you very much for this mod. Truly. <3
might want to get rid of/rename the .bak file in the folder before you re-apply since it will create another .bak post patching.
Then once it's running use UuuClient and inject the dll like normal and you should be good to go.
