You can't change items directly. You need to export the hero (that creates the hero01.pax (if saved on the leftmost spot), then change the items you want to change and then you have to start a new game and import the hero.
Of course, there's an added problem with this editor. When you edit too much into the item, the minimum level goes up. I changed a dwarf pistol and upon reloading, it had minimum level: 202
Oh man, it's been sooo long since I've played Sacred. Is this the Item Importer/Exporter made by SonicMouse? He/She used to have a website where I'd upload items I found in the game. I'll go dig through my files and see if I can locate any of those items.
I found where I saved my item files. When I get around to it, I'll re-install Sacred Gold, and see if my item files work with this editor. It looks to be the same as the one by SonicMouse, but I'll double check to be sure. If they do work, maybe I can upload my item files somewhere.

I dont know if ur still active, but i cant seem to select the saved games on steam. They are a .pak file instead of .pax. How did you do it on steam?

I go to load a character save file from the Users/SavedGAmes/AscaranEntertainment blah blah and it doesn't see the files there.
Tool doesn't recognize the file types.
